Solo Exhibition "di NERO e LUCE"

• Berlin 2026

My shadows come from afar; they are a profound bond that has always inhabited my creative research. The body of work presented in this Berlin exhibition, consisting of eleven images from an ongoing project, stems from an intimate revelation. It was born from a fascination with contemporary engravings and etchings, a subsequent interest in the physical medium, and the observation of Giambattista Piranesi's works—with their violent contrasts and deep, dramatic blacks—marking the concrete beginning of this journey.

From that fascination with dense and engraved blacks, a purely poetic realization is born. Through chemical photographic development on matte paper, light and darkness cease to be technical data and become primary matter to be sculpted and layered, like grooves on a plate. Shadow plays the role of a passive void and becomes a living space, memory, and mystery; an inner journey in which photography strips itself of its documentary function to become pure sign and evocation.

The moment of stillness that comes before the outburst, in a wing that defies emptiness, where thought wanders ready to depart yet remains captive to formal beauty. It is a longing for something unattainable: a flight that takes place entirely within.

Inspired by listening to "Geliebter, sag! Where is your sense?” By Richard Wagner's Tannhäuser. The shot was born in 1994 as an attraction not yet defined. Only today, through a rollover and a black and white rereading, that initial tension finds a recognisable shape. Listening becomes coincidence and resonance: not origin, but detonator of a vision that has remained suspended in time.

Tracce scolpite dal tempo si intrecciano con segni di luce e ombra in un linguaggio silenzioso e profondo; crepe, colature e macchie segnano la superficie, fragile eppur potente, di un muro trasformato in memoria. La luce lo attraversa e, mutando a ogni istante, tesse partiture verticali dove muschi e colori emergono come presenze delicate, unendo metamorfosi e poesia.

Traces etched by time intertwine with signs of light and shadow in a silent and profound language; cracks, drips and stains mark the surface, fragile and powerful, of a wall transformed into memory. Light traverses it and, changing with every instant, weaves vertical scores where mosses and colours emerge as delicate presences, uniting metamorphosis and poetry.
