Is the RAD syllabus Australian or is it just really popular there?

i wont lie i do cecchetti so i dont know much about rad

but its named after the ballet academy in england so i’m assuming its english. it is very popular here, from what i understand the majority of ballet programs in studios here tend to be rad.

i dont follow australian dance bc comps here

1. aren’t livestreamed and

2. are both much shorter but also longer than the us (people here will do like 7 solos at one comp).

in saying that, i do follow calisthenics (which is an australian style of dance) and jeaden is probably the best club here. everyone is sleeping on mea rowe fr.

There is a full time ballet program, apart time ballet program (like some dancers fly in from interstate to train there like 1-2 days a week) and then rec classes in more styles (ballet, contemp, jazz etc)

haha its actually on the other end of the country from me! i dont know too too much about it.

we don’t really have big bfa dance programs like they do in the us so we do ‘full-time dance’ which is essentially like studying a bfa but just a lower qualification and its usually at a studio rather than a university.

im pretty sure claudia dean runs full time but also has kid classes? im assuming thats why it seems confusing, in aus when we talk about full time we talk about 16+ yr olds studying dance as a degree rather than solely taking classes :)

Double Dutch Bus was slated to perform for Best in Show at the gala but in a GRWM post today on Sara’s sisters TikTok Sara said she was only performing in the opening number which led to speculation but DDB was still on the schedule. When the time came Do Re Mi ended up performing instead. No one knows why but Do Re Mi did end up winning best in show so it all worked out lol
