Version 4 guide wheels may do the trick. Ground a simple cutter in situ and made snap fit v-groove pulleys of delrin. The low profile bearings are sensitive to the slightest excess interference fit and delrin doesn’t want to stay on the bearings anyway. So a .010 lip on the outer bore captures the bearings. The result is the best action yet for the ring drive. Now to reassemble the back and get the updated code and circuit working. The rotational mechanism for this hybrid clock camera is getting yet another revision that seems to be just the incremental improvement needed to get it working the way I envisioned. Another iteration of the rear drive system cover in aluminum looks like it should do the trick. And the first of two magnetically actuated sensor systems is being added to complete the requirements for the control/user interface. I’m hoping there is enough light in the Albany Carousel to allow a test shot to unwrap the animals onto the paper negs I’m using to test with. 8 X 10 film has gotten crazy expensive for this purpose. I’ve measured the rotation rate of the carousel to match up the rotation rate of the camera. 6 ASA may not be enough. But there’s a bit to do yet before that’s going to happen. The day my doctor suggested I might want to talk to a cardiologist was the same week we had planned a road trip to Zane’s home town of Santa Fe to escape the ever present reminders of him around the house. The southwest had beckoned for a while and our old haunts were receding too far into distant memory. As to whether we should take the trip, the doc said “just don’t go on any long hikes into the wilderness.” So with a bag full of cameras and film, the trip was on. Taking a break from studio building, organizing, and regular chores to install some friction hinges on the Minutero camera. I originally had these hinges made for the Novena Heirloom laptop project. Tacoma Narrows bridge Photographed with a P.90 lensless camera on a field trip with my bridge enthusiast friend Elliot and a site inspector. This was a few weeks before it opened.
