It was nice to have a pleasant conversation over books instead of dealing with injuries that were made on the field. Since leaving Hogwarts, she hadn’t really found anyone to discuss books with. “I would like that,” she said and meant it. She wouldn’t mind making a friend with someone she hadn’t thought to before. And Pansy seemed genuine. “I don’t get much free time but I would be happy to make some for this book.”

𝓔𝓒 —- With the book in hand, Ellie nodded as she looked to the older girl. While they had never really interacted before that day, this was not how Ellie remembered Pansy from school. However, a lot of things happened since then and she knew that people weren’t always like how one imagined. “If you want, we could discuss our thoughts on the book after you’ve read it,” she offered softly. “I never really get a chance to discuss any of the books that I like.”

“ i’m thinking… “ it was hard to tell with him, and pansy would know this better than anyone. for all she was aware, he’d burst out at any second with: of draping myself on the nearest piano, i need another pair of boots, or here’s a great new way to mess with theo. “ WE SHOULD GET DRINKS. “

𝓔𝓒 —- Her brows lifted as she couldn’t hold back her surprise when Pansy held out the book to her. Ellie remembered her in school but certainly didn’t remember her like this. Gently, she grasped the book and gave a grateful smile. “I’ll let you have it once I’m done,” she offered, “trust me it won’t take me long.” She glanced down at the book, “she’s pretty great though, right?”

“ WHAT ? “ draco turned sharply, head tilted the side in clear question but eyes glinting with amusement. “ smiling ? do you mean… smiling ? merlin, pans. “

Oriana looked up from the notebook she was writing in. “I think just a few too many article assignments.” Her table was littered with empty coffee cups, more than any one person should reasonably have. “I have, like, five due in the next two weeks so I’m trying to make that work.” She’d fallen in the habit of saying yes to whatever came across her desk, in need of any distraction.

Pansy was an expert when it came to potions and ingredients. She wouldn’t own her own shop if she wasn't but sometimes when people talked to her in a certain tone like she didn't know what she was talking about, she would purposefully find a way to convince them to buy ingredients she knew would have.. other results. “Or maybe.. people just need to know what they want when they come in? Common, Knox-- you know that was kinda funny. Her eyebrows will grow back and there is always make up after all.”

𝓔𝓒 —- Eleanor knew that she probably should be shopping for others ( i.e. her family probably ) with the holidays around the corner but she found herself distracted by all the things she wanted for herself. She eyed the new bestsellers table to see what had come out this month when she looked up at who was beside her. “Oh, do you know if there any more copies of that on the shelf,” she asked, hopeful.

“ it’s perfectly alright.” cassia reassures that same smile not moving from her features, one of her hands gesture towards the open seat. “ may i join you ? and it’s alright i get that. i should have came over sooner instead of making you think i was staring..” she then beams at the other. “ i can promise that i’m a friendly face.”

“ way to greet a man, pans, “ draco said drly, crossing his arms as he made attempt to flag down a bartended. he reached over to swipe his thumb on the underside of her bottom lip before withdrawing it, inspecting the red mark left behind. “ YOUR LIPSTICKS A BIT MESSED UP, “ he murmured quietly, squinting at her as he attempted to gauge whether it was still or he had fixed it, “ so, yes, you had something on your face. “

Gabrielle may or may not be prone to daydreaming during work. There were days that were slower than others, and it felt like Madame Malkin only had her come in today for her own company. She was about to ask to leave early, when she heard a rustle behind her. “Oh! Hello,” Gabrielle smiled as she turned around, not realizing someone new had come into the shop. She must’ve missed the sound of the bell. “How’re you today?” she asked, folding her hands in front of her, “Anything I can help you with?” 

“sorry, i just don’t think i’ve ever heard you being positive about something.” that probably wasn’t true, but ginny didn’t much care for the specifics of things. she was sure that at school, she had overheard a conversation or two where pansy parkinson wasn’t being an arse ( shocking as it had been the first time she realized… the slytherin gang were a friend group, after all ). still : something positive to say about anything that involved a weasley? color her SURPRISED. “i should probably thank you. specially since it probably took a lot for you to say - what with losing, and all.” 

“that’s no way to speak to me, miss parkinson.” and it certainly wouldn’t have just flown by if it were anyone but her, but narcissa still held a soft spot for the woman she would always see as a girl. let it never be said that the matriarch wanted to pressure her son into anything he didn’t WANT : but she had always hoped he would see the light and settle down with the parkinson girl. “don’t tell me you were supporting the harpies of all teams. really, pansy - you could do better.” 

Pansy froze in place when she heard the familiar voice and her back straightened up. Not because she was afraid but out of respect. Pansy had nothing but respect for Narcissa and adoration. She had spent many times at her home during the breaks along with Blaise to visit Draco. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and gave an apologetic smile. “I apologize-- I thought you were someone else. Some people have had a staring problem all day as if it’s a crime for me to be out and about.” She chuckled and shook her head, “Oh Merlin-- no. I was rooting for the cannons the whole time. I actually made a friendly bet on it but, well we know how that turned out. Would you like to sit with me? I haven’t seen you in so long.” 

Parvati did not really have a favourite quidditch team. She did not care for the game enough for that. However she had loyalty and mostly supported the teams with players she knew. So obviously she had been rooting for the Holyhead Harpies. They had Ginny and they were exclusively women which Parvati liked.  ❝ That’s what losers say. ❞ Boastfulness was lacing her words and a air of superiority was present of her face. Once she would have added something petty or mean about Pansy specifically but she had grown past that kind of cattiness. She hoped that the other woman had changed too.  However the next remark brought back old memories from Hogwarts. ❝ Can’t I look at you ? I’m trying to see if you’ve aged well or not. ❞ So much for raising above schoolgirl pettiness. It was easy to slip back to old behaviour around people like Pansy. It did not bring the best out of Parvati. 

“hi-” dennis stopped abruptly, his hand already raised in the air in anticipation of giving pansy a high five. he stayed that way for a few seconds, his mouth hanging open slightly. however, he managed to regain his composure, his hand quickly falling to his side. “it was an excellent game really,” he was quick to agree even going as far as nodding his head. “i really thought the cannons were going to win for a second there-” he continued, having begun rambling in an attempt to cover his tracks. “oh- sorry- i didn’t mean to stare,” he added, once again speaking quickly, as he quickly adverted his gaze. way to go dennis, he thought, as he bit down on his lip. 

“ i’m sorry ! i just wanted to come say hello, i hope that’s alright ? “ cassia hadn’t meant any ill will or intention, she just mainly trying to decide if she should or if she shouldn’t. “ i really am sorry.”
