The longest year
I keep seeing all these social media posts about 2020 being the longest year ever. Don’t get me wrong, I’m going to be joyously waving goodbye to 2020 on New Year’s Eve like the rest of the world, but I think for me, for us, the longest years have passed. I hope.
2016 and the longest months of goodbye to our sweet (toddler) baby
2015 and never sleeping because I was so afraid to lose Grace every damn day
2003 and poverty + parenting a tween as babies ourselves
2020 has been long and hard and also I’m so grateful for what our family has had this year. Cozy home, enough work, and each other. Smash is almost 10 and baby sister is firmly a preschooler. Life after foster care is hard in a different way, but one things for sure: it moves faster than I was ready for.
