There were few things that could bring joy to Maggie - her weeks with her little boy, Carter, were her primary reason for surviving. The custody agreement since the divorce was simple; he’d spend two weeks with her and then two weeks with his dad. Per usual, on their first evening together, Carter would insist on going out to eat with his mother. They had enjoyed a rather large dinner (at least as large of a meal as a four year old could consume) and spent their time with plenty of smiles and giggles. Nothing could have brought her mood down - or so she thought. Upon exiting the diner, Carter took off in excitement. Without hesitation, Maggie chased after him, screaming for the tot to come back. She pulled him close to her body and was prepared to scold him when she saw the bike inch a bit too close for comfort. Her arms tightened around the small child and a soft, “motherfucker”, spilled from her lips. She was prepared to move along until she heard the biker speak. Rage filled her petite frame and soon, venom was pouring from her tongue. “Me? You’re warnin’ me to be careful? Open your damn eyes, asshole! This is a parking lot, not a goddamn highway. Just ‘cause you ride a bike don’t mean you own every stretch of asphalt.”
