Man theres so many good episodes... I'd have to choose between "The Knights" or "The Plan" Like ignoring the plot of Knights, the actual episode is gorgeous (Cold take IK). The fact its one of the few S2 episodes to be set at sunset carries it. The plot and jokes being good also help :) The plan is just hilarious, like no question. Just making up a pretty bad plan only for Daniel Lennard to be a cosmetic company is spectacular.

I heart drawing

Been practicing the past 2 weeks, and while I meant to post them I forgot so super long post GO!

My first goal was to actually try to understand gumball's design, so I went in and attempted to understand it. It was good practice, also yeah I found out about the TAWOG Bible here.

Despite this, it took me a while to realize Darwin was rectangular and not circular...

From their I attempted to do an art piece, but couldn't come up with anything so I went back to sketches

Something thats super hard to draw is gumball fucking pill butt. Anyways from here I went back to trying to draw an art piece

This one got further, but I didn't really like it... SO REDO

This one was me attempting to understand water color on Firealpaca, but I didn't like it... SO BACK TO SKETCHING

Here are my finalized sketches for gumball different outfits. This was also the point where I made that post about the changing art style of TAWOG

Which leads me to today, where I decided to just sketch... :]. TBF, I just continued to perfect my gumball and darwin. I ultimately concluded that its hard to pose darwin, Gumball torso HAS to be super skinny, and the eyes suck!

Something i would like to do is either create a proper write up or video on TAWOG art style. Considering the fact season 1 had two styles; one very angular and the being more on model (This ignores the fact that epilse eyes can make there appearance in season 1)

Like Compare Gumball eyes here to this shot from the same episode (The Quest, also just realized Anaid has the ellipse eyes)

The Quest being THE first episode in production order makes me question how extensive the reanimation period was… WHICH SHOTS DID THEY DEAM WORTHY OF REANIMATING???

These shots come back to back, featuring the 2 different styles.

My rambling on season 1 doesnt even count for the fact we have extensive promo art and animation of the transitional art style from season 1 to 2.

This is from the Elmore Stream-it series, promo videos for the first season. This inbetween style is featured in the Series bible (everyone else is still rocking the season 1 style)

This bible is whole different story tho, so many concepts for characters basically thrown out considering it was made after season 1

Finally post season 3, they’ll randomly bring back the ellipse eyes for seemingly no reason

Each time these eyes are brought back i imagine that scene of peter ripping off rhe venom suit from Spider-man 3

Anyways yeah this is a simple long post glossing over a lot of things; penny using Virginie concept art design but not masami, The fact circular eyes were used half the time as normal eyes in s2… You can see why I wanna make a proper blog entry or video over this. Anyways thank you for reading this, ima going back to drawing and never posting my art >:)
