the thing is that classpects only make sense from an external point of view as someone viewing a story - that is a narrative that has a specific start and end point. from your own perspective it's somewhat nonsensical to have a classpect irl because you're not a story character, you're a person, and your story will probably not end when you die, and you're also not an external observer watching yourself but in fact yourself inside your own head. but we can come up with workarounds. that's why a lot of you might find that the answer doesn't fit your own personal conception of self. the quiz is made to determine how you *would* come off to an external observer

??? you mean convert from dart to javascript? i mean in theory but i really do NOT have the spoons to do the probably years of work that'd take.
converting sburbsim from javascript to dart took me and pl like, two months and its tiny compared to current sburbsim PLUS dollsim PLUS wigglersim PLUS LOHAE.
In that regard it’d be far easier to work out what’s gone wrong in the dart setup to get it working again. That and I can try to make a stopgap fix sometime.

this submitted post was useful, p sure its a poorly vetted part not anything wrong with the engine or browsers.
So as it turns out it is, in fact, browsers... specifically image colour profile handling in Firefox.
An issue in how it handles images means that sometimes the colours of some pixels in the canvas are not reporting the colours they should be. Our colour replacement works by asking if a pixel is a specific colour and swaps it for a provided replacement. If the pixel is reported as a slightly different colour, it does not get replaced.
The issue is, at least partially, fixed in Firefox v89 which released on the 1st of June 2021. Some people seem to still be having the issue though, and there’s not really a whole lot we can do about it, short of using some extremely cumbersome workarounds which would slow down anything using the recolouring significantly.
Sorry folks, but until Firefox fixes this on their end, the best solution is to use a different browser... on the up side, Edge is actually pretty decent on web compliance these days since they switched to be based on Chromium like Chrome.

State of the Sim 2020
I’m still doing that whole self care thing because wow 2020 sure was a thing? As such I’m not on main and not doing any sort of big VC kinda event.
*despite* self care being a priority I actually got more done this year than I thought, and there’s plenty going on outside my sphere, too.
Farragnarok remains our overarching priority, as a sort of context to make experimental games and sims in.

Sorry for the extended radio silence, but it sure has been A Year™, and besides a load of things happening and not happening, I’ve mostly been busy making a game. It’s playable today, though pretty ugly and limited. See the LOSAC section of our yearly review for info on that.

I’ve created a class and aspect schematization chart based off the lovely theories of 0Pacifica, which were a compelling enough argumentation that I’ve significantly absorbed them into my personal canon. You should read her meta if you want and you can find the chart here.

This is what we’ve been up to for the last few days - I painted the backgrounds, made the logo, tweaked a load of css and did supplemental coding.
Ludum Dare Progress Day 1
After 1 day, our Ludum Dare is looking really good :) @paradoxlands made an amazing background, and we’re using @popomerrygamz‘s magical girl dollset and @manicinsomniacmusic ‘s music. The entire team is coming together to work on a secret extra dollset for the game (to replace the place holder giant magical girl). It should be ready for a big reveal tomorrow!
Lots of cool stuff still to come, for sure.
