If we knew the answer, it wouldn't be a problem.
Week 6 Lecture.
Dear Friend,Â
This week we've been given our next project, Future Echoes. It sounds like a very interesting topic. So many ideas and possibilities come to mind. I'm really looking forward to my group meeting tomorrow  so we can get started and get stuck in. Even though we only have four weeks I'm confident we'll be able to have a well refined design. My group really clicks which makes things easier. Hopefully we can all agree on one topic/genre quickly.Â
Ideas and such will be uploaded hopefully tomorrow. I'll get some concepts going. I'm pretty excited.Â
Week 5 Lecture.
Dear Friend,Â
"Better late than never" is a quote that definitely applies here. Anyway, this week was all about prototyping and how important they are. Prototyping for me is similar to concept art. I would draw up a concept or an idea for a prototype.Â
Exploring and inventing is all about learning from the world around you and incorporating the different fields of expertise into your own design.

Week 6 Presentations.
Dear Friend,
This week we had our group presentations for our idea of Flow. Below is a mindmap of what I thought about the other groups. The four other groups varied and it was really interesting to watch on how each group had a different perception on flow.Â
Some groups it was clear that they did not prepare enough or put enough research and thought into their products. Other groups had really refined ideas and it was really engaging. I think my favourite group was the first group that performed. They incorporated humor and used minecraft as a visualisation tool. Their idea was also well thought out and I liked how it demonstrated flow.

Concepts.
Dear Friend,
These are some ideas that I drew up. Iâm just slightly concerned about the use of my sketches. Another group member is posting mine without giving proper credit and this is fine as long as I donât get in trouble for allegedly copying him, where as he is actually using my images. Just a silly thought I suppose.Â

Week 4.
Dear Friend,
We had another group meeting this week. I'm glad we meet up so frequently. It is for this reason we're so on top of this project. However, I am a bit worried we each have a different perspective on our main idea. We agreed upon a flow of energy through nature approach. Where glow sticks, glowing paint or fairy lights were going to be used to represent the "veins" of trees and how their energy flowed through them. Such can be seen in the picture below that I drew up during a meeting. Â

Studio Sesh.
Dear Friend,Â
I've never been good at brainstorming ideas. Mine always end up looking like a mess. For example, here's my mind map from the studio in week three where we had to come up with ideas for flow.Â
The main ideas that my group really connected with was the flow of emotions, energy and maths naturally occurring in nature (Fibonacci sequence). The more prominent ideas were relating to energy in nature and emotions. We'll see how things go.Â
Week Three.
Dear Friend,Â
Today I learnt the importance of reflection. Through the reflection process we are able to review past ideas, discover faults or new ideas and help a project grow. This is why it is important to write down all ideas as they appear in your mind. They might not seem like good ideas at the time, but upon reflecting, one might find greatness.Â
Andy Gavin
Dear Friend,
If you are unaware, Andy Gavin was the co-designer and co-creator of the Crash Bandicoot game series. Along with being a designer, he's also a video game programmer, a novelist and an entrepreneur. He co-created Crash Bandicoot with his childhood friend, Jason Rubin in 1986. Gavin and Rubin gave an exceptional display of sharp graphics, polished gameplay and use of technology in Crash Bandicoot.Â
This game has always been a favourite of mine. Perhaps because of the reason it was there while I was growing up and formed a large part of my childhood. And besides, who doesn't enjoy being chased by a giant dinosaur?
Jonathan Ive
Dear Friend,Â
Contrary to popular belief, Steve Jobs was not the lead designer of the iPhone. Jonathan Ive is the lead designer of the majority of Apple's products. Ive is one of the world's move influential designers and has been given numerous awards. It's unfortunate that people don't think of him when asked who designed the iPhone.Â
Two Amazing Water Tricks
Dear friend,
This is a rather interesting comic. The beautiful thing about art and design is being able to alter reality. The Two Amazing Water Tricks  experiments with physics. Because obviously you cannot do these things to water. It portrays that as designers, we can change the way people perceive things and how people use things.Â
The surreal aspect of the image is, I find, very interesting. As a designer, I would like to create something that looks realistic but is not possible in the physical world. A lot of surreal artists have the same idea.

Philippe Starck
Dear Friend,Â
I feel foolish for not knowing who this man is. Turns out he greatly impacted the design industry. The French creator, designer and architect even has a video on TED about destiny and design. He talks about designing for the result, the final effect. Designing for people. Not for other designers or for oneself. Also about improving past designs. It's all about going back and trying to finish the story.Â
Starck gives us the duty to invent a new story. To invent a new poetry. With the only rule of having no idea about the next story. In this day and age we're given the best tools and resources and a blank page to create and design. He's so driven to improve society through his designs.  It's inspiring stuff. Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://www.ted.com/talks/philippe_starck_thinks_deep_on_design.htmlÂ
