“Part they’re part of the world…” Franklin hums, questioning Dominic’s logic in all of this. “Though, I suppose you could say they’re out of touch enough to not count.” A sleepy unkempt Dominic was irritatingly adorable. Infact, it was taking Franklin quite a bit of effort to not turn the redhead into a teddy bear again. “Well, change takes time and effort. You don’t suddenly become a new person the moment the clock strikes tweleve.” He sighs and wraps and arm around Dominic’s torso. “Did you complete any of last year’s resolutions?”

Mistook the bedrooms. Franklin glanced up at the headboard, frowning as he tried to decide if that was a believable excuse. “Mm… The Vatican is wide awake,” he informs Dominic. “And I’m supposed to at the church at six sharp for Mass.” Blue eyes find their way to the mess of red hair using him as a make shift pillow at the moment, giving in to the urge to run a hand through the red locks. “Unless, of course, you’re having a crisis. In that case, I could stay and provide some guidance or… solace?”

“Oh and what exactly do you expect me to say? Oh yeah remember how five minutes ago I told you to just speak when we have to because I still have a lot of feelings for you and I still am really attracted to you so it’s hard for me to be cool? Yeah well so glad that you reminded me all the reasons why you can’t be with me, why you won’t sleep with me, and why you think we should only talk when we have to because you don’t want anything to do with me.” he rolled his eyes, “don’t say that to me. Maybe you think you love me but you don’t.” he wiped his eyes, “anyway, I’m moving out of the building tomorrow so we’ll make some schedule to sort out visits and stuff.” 

Taylor chuckled, “cool. So basically I tell you that and you force me to once again, pour my heart out to you so you can once again, reject me and remind me how you never want to be with me and how terrible I am. Cool, cool.” he shook his head, “can you move please? I could have been playing with Akemi right now instead of giving you another chance to make a fool out of me.” 

“I made a mistake! I was young and stupid and I got scared. I didn’t think I would fall in love with you and then I did, and then we had pets and then a kid and it just got so serious and I freaked out. I don’t know, I know it was wrong but I came back, does that mean nothing to you?” 

“Oh please, you don’t give a shit! I could have sex with anyone in front of you and you’d probably yawn. Sure, you say you think I’m attractive or whatever, but you don’t feel what I feel. You don’t get the jitters when you see me, you don’t go home feeling like an absolute moron for trying after being shot down for the fifth time, and you don’t keep trying to jump through hoops to see if maybe any part of me still gives a damn about you. So yeah maybe Dan bothers you but that’s mostly because you just hate Dan, you couldn’t give a shit otherwise.” 

Taylor shoots Dominic a death glare, “don’t be daft, I want to be with you, it’s not going to happen and I’m trying to be polite about it but it’s really hard when I still think you’re really hot and I still get really jealous over you. I can’t pretend I don’t and then you’ll just keep getting mad at me and we’ll keep fighting. I’m trying to do the right thing.” 

“No I’m done. I can’t be friends with you, it’s never going to work so you’re right. I’m dumb, you’re wise and smart and we should just do what you said. We only talk when we absolutely have to, we’re not friends, we love Akemi and we’ll do what we need for her but I can’t just hang out with you. I’m sorry that I’m not dead inside like you.”

Taylor huffed and stood up, “nevermind, you clearly don’t care. I don’t know why I keep being stupid. I’m going to go play with Akemi.” he said before standing up and heading for her room. 

“First of all, sex would not ruin that. We’re both adults and know how to handle ourselves enough to know how to manage that.” his face fell at the adission, “you fuck your assistants? Who? How many? Are you fucking the one you have now?” 

“Well..yeah, kind of. That sounds exactly like something you would do. Do you really expect me to believe that just because you don’t want to have sex with me, somehow the whole ‘I don’t have sex’ thing is real? There’s no way you can even last a week without having sex, I know you Dominic.” 

“wait,” he held his finger up, “what do you mean your nannies? How many do you have? Are they hot? Is that why she called me one of your model escorts? Because you can’t just have anyone watch Akemi, Dominic. Who are they? “

“Yes, they have kids at her school. I think she’s just jealous because she’s fat and old and clearly her husband doesn’t have sex with her. Not that you have sex with me either, but she probably thinks so. Can you focus? We need to make her pay.”

“I need your help.” Taylor said as he came into Dominic’s home and sat down beside him, Akemi running off to greet the pets. “Some bitch told me to tell you to stop letting his model escorts around the kids, I thought about killing her but since I’m trying to turn on a new page I decided best to ruin her life.” he took a breath, “this dad that always hits on me told me she’s having an affair with the P.E. teacher, I need you to leak it.”

It wasn’t surpirsing that Franklin’s wake-up light tricked Dominic into thinking the morning sun was up already– it was, after all, what the smart alarm clock was created for– but Dominic was hogging the side of the bed closest to the light, so what wakes the blond isn’t a natural biological response to bright light and the soft sounds of a waking forest, but rather a sleepy explicative and a frustrated groan.

Franklin slept alone. And that embrace isn’t familiar in the least but that voice… well, that he did  recognize. Fearful of what he might see, Franklin slowly turns head to peer over his shoulder, only to see a prone but clothed Dominic laying up against him. “Dominic… Why are you in my bed?”

For whatever reason Franklin decides to have a conversation. Now.

Dominic exhales and hugs the warm body he’s pressed against closer. That’s when reality starts to slowly break through the hangover haze.

Waking up is immediate, eyes opening so wide Dominic starts seeing spots from blinding himself so hard with the morning light. “Fuck,” he groans and involuntarily hides his face against Franklin’s back. 

“Well that depends on the day” he half-joked “but I get what you’re saying and no, I don’t think our relationship has stopped me from getting someone serious. I think I stop myself from getting someone serious. Of course, Pascal was the first guy I even tried with. Maybe that’s why I need it to work so badly”
