​This photo captures a beautiful example of saprotrophic fungi at work. While they might look delicate, these fungi are the heavy lifters of the natural world. ​Without fungi, our forests would be choked with fallen timber. Instead, they act as nature’s digestive system, unlocking nutrients trapped in deadwood and returning them to the soil in forms that new trees and plants can absorb.

​In arboriculture, we often assess fungi to determine tree stability, but on the forest floor or a habitat pile, they are a vital sign of a functioning ecosystem.

"I've noticed for some time~" the ruby scaled lamia settles in his coils. "Then again, who could possibly keep their eyes off me~?" He laughs.

Cronus found himself keeping a crisp, business-like tone.

Scarlet scales shift, and his muscular masculine frame ripples and changes, shifting until she leans her toned yet curvaceous torso forward to prop herself up on her own tail; large breasts barely covered by gold and rubies are deliberately pushed forward as the snake flicks its tongue at the other god.

She winks.

"How did you----"

He recoils, looking worried.

"No, I can't read minds. But, I can read hormones, pheromones, urges, desires..." she slowly lists off as she curls her tail around him, a hand gently ghosting down his arm to tease her gold tipped claws against his scales. "I am the force that drives men mad at a glance, a whiff, a touch, a tasssste~" She lowers her voice to almost a whisper.

oh, his instincts are screaming at him right now, feral, inhuman instincts he'd long ago smothered in their sleep and buried.

"Interested in giving me a little history lesson about what your pantheon is like? Or, more about your duties?" Those intense bedroom eyes and fluttering full lashes don't do much to soothe the flames that burn as she fully rests her palms against his skin, coping a feel of Cronus' muscled arms and chest.

"Oh, my domain?" he rumbled, "I preside over the growing of crops and the harvest. I can also channel the earth's primordial fire."

He lifted his hand between them and summoned a flame, when it died down, he was holding a single black rose, the tips of its petals gilded.

“Even if it was a cheap trick~” she keeps her eyes on Cronus as she leans in and gently flicks her tongue against the petals. To both catch its scent, and tease the petals like she’s teasing something else.
