Pancycle

At the end of 2020 I began thinking about exercising visual creativity in a committed manner.  There are so many good reasons to make visual art and I have largely ignored them for the better part of the last 30 years.  Over the last few months I have invested heavily in learning Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign as well as sharpening some (admittedly limited) skills I already had in Premier Pro. There are very specific reasons for wanting to develop a certain facility with those programs but the underlying impulse has been to explore the visual. This month I turned to drawing and more manual tools and have found it exceedingly rewarding.  I am just scratching the surface with no clear path in mind but the activity of working with visual images has already begun to change the way I look, see and relate to the world and has, not surprisingly impacted my relationship to music making.

I am a debutante, novice, beginner of the most noble and curious kind and I also have little to no expectations or goals related to this project aside from experiencing the joy of creating. 

Thank goodness for Skillshare, Domestika, YouTube and the rest of the internet for bringing endless resources for learning and inspiration.

Now its time to drink tea and make some stuff.
