Soooo in honor of the 3rd anniversary of the infamous Tokyo trip™ I decided to share a timeline I wrote up quite a while ago (and cleaned up for the occasion). There seemed to be confusion in the fandom regarding when exactly they left, where they went and when, how long the trip lasted etc. so at some point I went through the trouble of scrolling through the tumblr jikook tag/twitter jikook search (especially tweets in Japanese bc I happen to understand the language at an intermediate level) to try and piece things together and this is what I came up with. Is it important? Did we need this at all? Absolutely not, but it’s all I can contribute in this celebration.
Timeline of the info we got while the trip was taking place:
October 28: talks of jikook coming to Japan start around 1pm. Airport pics are shared around 8pm. They left from Busan and were seen off by Jungkook’s father and Jimin’s brother.
(pics are from Gimhae airport in Busan. Even Japanese armys are unsure whether Jikook are actually in Japan until much later)
October 29: we actually got nothing on this day lol. I might have missed some unpopular fanaccounts. No pictures either way.
October 30: rumors/accounts of Jikook being spotted in Shinjuku and Shibuya (including Harajuku and Omotesando). Starting from 10pm, various pics of jikook on the street are shared (both pics taken in the daytime and at nighttime). The two appear to be shopping, judging by the bags Jimin is carrying. In all these pics, Jungkook is wearing his green hoodie and Jimin is wearing a black outfit and a bucket hat (the part of GCFT in the Saint Laurent store as well as Red Rock was clearly filmed on the same day). Note that in GCFT, we can see the shopping happened on Oct 30, so the sightings are from today.
October 31: around 6pm, a pic of Jikook at Disneyland is shared. It is also mentioned that the two watched the fireworks together. Considering the firework show takes place at 8.30pm, one can assume the pic must be from yesterday (as we can also see in GCFT, they’re also wearing the same outfits as in the pics we saw yesterday, with the only difference that jm is wearing a cap insteas of a bucket hat, and a black turtleneck instead of a printed black tshirt). An account from someone who saw them at Disneyland also claims it was a Monday night, which confirms it was the 30th (this also means that most of what we see in GCFT was filmed on Oct 30 except for the beginning).
Around 10pm pics of them at a Gucci store and sorrounding area (Tokyu department store) are shared: in these, jikook are wearing the same outfits they’ll be wearing at the airport when they go back to Korea, so I believe these pictures are from today, unlike the Disneyland ones.
November 1: at around 5am pics of jikook at Tokyo airport are shared. They probably left the previous night.
Later we also get accounts from people seeing them in Shibuya the previous day, plus at 4pm someone posts pics of them wandering in Shibuya: jk is wearing the green hoodie and jm is wearing his green jacket. The poster, who ran into them, claims the pics are from the day before yesterday (Oct 30). This seems a bit strange since jm is wearing the green jacket and a cap, unless these pics were taken right before jikook went to Disneyland and Jimin took off his jacket. Either that or OP got it wrong and the pics are either from the 29th or the 31st (assuming they managed to change clothes at some point).
Now, as we know, some months later jikook claimed that the longest walk they’ve ever had was when they walked “the whole day” in Shibuya during their trip. It is unclear which day this was, but I guess it was either the 29th or the 31st, but I’d say the 31st makes more sense since it was Halloween and they were dressed up (if that’s the case, considering they were spotted at the Gucci store that day, they were probably exaggerating a bit when they said they walked the whole day and it was probably the whole afternoon or something like that). So they either walked around Shibuya on the 29th (and nobody recognized them, like jikook themselves claimed), or they did on the 31st but also went to the Gucci store on the same day, and then went to the airport.
THEREFORE, we can conclude the trip went as follows:
October 28: jikook leave for Tokyo from Busan
October 29: unknown. Possible walk around Shibuya wearing costumes
October 30: shopping in Shibuya and Shinjuku; dinner at Red Rock; Disneyland
October 31: possible walk around Shibuya wearing costumes; shopping at Tokyu department store (Gucci store); going back to Korea

Jk was trying to get out of the Donsaeng zone for years and he kinda pushed it through with persistence. In order to be seen as his equal partner, he had to no longer be seen as the younger, even tho he is. I know nothing made him smile more than when Jimin said Jk is more than his Dongsaeng. He worked hard to shed that image (even if Jimin falls back on it sometimes). But he worked hard. Working out, tattoos, dropping the honorifics, all of which you said, but he also, over time shifted the role into him being in charge and giving he's the oldest, like him taking care of Jimin, not vice versa, him treating Jimin like his passenger princess, cutting his meat, carrying his bags, not the other way around. He just had to get Jimin on board. I think about Jk drawing Jimin and describing him as being cute, but saying he has to remind himself Jimin is older. Okay? Whatever that means. It's kind of funny, cause lets be real, Jimin is always gonna in charge, but he knows what Jk likes and he caters to that, cause it makes Jk happy. It cracks me up cause when Jk reads out duo names for them, he says, his name always seems to come first. JeonJimin, JungJi. He wants to wear the pants so bad, so Jimin lets him from time to time and even indulges him. "My manly man, will you protect me". Knowing he don't need protection, but will certainly let his big boy rescue him. Jk's kept his honorifics in tact (apart from occasional dropping, which is very rare) for everyone, but the one he's in love with and dropped completely for the most 99% of the time. Mission accomplished.

More or less 😁 It is kinda funny to see how important this seems to be for jk and how hard he worked for it but it's also so heartwarming. Hi anon I'm doing ok I guess, thank you ❤️ Eeeh difficult question. Arguably it's still a hyung/dongsaeng relationship. In the sense that they'll always be hyung and dongsaeng... One will always be older. There's always gonna be some sliiight power imbalance (for lack of a better word), no matter how tiny. But it's definitely been a gradual process, I'm not sure we can pinpoint when the biggest change happened. I'd say it started when jk decided he wanted to be seen as more manly and grown up. Working out, getting tattoos and getting piercings. Clearly things he genuinely likes but let's not lie to ourselves, they had another purpose too lol. And I'd say the process reached its pinnacle with jk dropping honorifics with jm. Which was also gradual but he finally dropped them almost entirely... After their military discharge? At least in public. 'Cause I remember in the first couple of episodes of AYS 2 there were still a lot of "hyung"s and then they gradually disappeared throughout the season. Which makes me think it actually happened during ms. Which makes sense tbh.

The way it feels like we're being gaslit by Hybe, into believing everything we saw go down with Jikook for years, but esp the last couple of years with AYS and Joint Enlistment and even the Silver Day live and Jin's concert, etc, that none of that happened. That we didn't hear Jk say he's most comfortable when its Just him and Jimin without everyone else around. That we didn't hear Jk say he goes to RM and to Jimin over everyone else, including over the guy in the ship they been hardcore pushing JK with this entire comeback. I didn't want to go there, but I'm starting to feel like Hybe has caved to backlash that AYS and their enlistment brought and is now limiting their on screen time in BTS and promos. Because why is this company trying to make us think the members spent the entire day together shooting merry go round and there was no footage to show of Jikook goofing around or even speaking to each other, like they were pushing other duos in the behind the scenes? Do they really think we're stupid enough to think Jikook didn't speak, goof off, have fun, do some goofy inside joke, not a single interaction that could have been included in the behind the scenes? They can put out a whole video of TK doing a handshake on their official site, but not include a single scene of Jikook on set making a video together, the one Jk enlisted with and goes to for worries? Hell there wasn't even a Namkook scene, really and he also goes to him over the other guy, yet again, he is the one they showed Jk interacting with, who happens to the be with the guy he is in the biggest ship with in kpop? I hope Jikook are watching all this stuff back lately knowing they were having moments too, but coincidentally enough, never get shown and it motivates them to push for AYS 3 even more, cause it seems at this point, its the only way we're gonna get interactions of them, that will actually make it to the public for us to see. At this point I don't even think its a conspiracy. I think its deliberate. And no they aren't hiding Jikook, not what I mean, I even felt maybe this was Jikook's decision, but now, not so much. I think Hybe got turned off from the backlash, is what I think and now they're acting weird toward Jikook's on screen stuff. Kinda like doing zero promotions for Jikook appearing on Jk's friends show, but did major promo for the other duos. Either Hybe, or maybe it has a lot to do with that stalker neighbor woman revenge posting and the mess she caused, but that's a whole different theory.

Also, this as well. Mind you, the other night. This was Jimin's reaction when Jk started singing "I really want to stay at your house" the OST and when they were discussing Cyberpunk coming out. Which is coincidentally the song Jk had on repeat when he kept begging Jimin to come over or him to come to Jimin's. Look how Jk caught Jimin off guard when he started singing it during their dinner date and Jimin stopped in his tracks and paused what he was doing to look over at Jk. Oh Jimin knows. He knows who Jk was summoning everytime he played it. Now we have Jk changing his profile pic and adding the other character, in which the characters promised to go to the moon with each other? People who say jkk could never be real because they are like brothers to each other have never heard of how often step siblings are attracted to or fall for each other, especially ones that become siblings later in life (puberty onwards). Im not promoting insest or anything but jkk are not related by blood, they have a very unusual relationship even by Korean men standards (hellooo Rosebowl and hickeygate), and have been through thick and thin together literally going to a hell zone side by side. Is it really that impossible for them to have developed some romantic feelings for each other? While Im at it, the only way that they are with others while being so touchy and into each other is if they are both ramrod straight and I think theres a better chance of the sky falling but thats just me..
P.S. the A.Y.S locations jkk went are seriously romantic places. Ive been with hubs to them as part of our second honeymoon years ago and they are so perfect for a couple getaway, I really hope they had a great time being less idol and more jiminxjungkook 🥹🕯️

Even since they been home from Busan, Jk has already been seen out, with his friend and I think alone as well, around his neighborhood and so far again, no signs of him being with Jimin (that we know of). Which has been the case for the last several years. Jimin even kinda said he never leaves the house and Jk agreed, and made a joke about the game. I imagine their situation is lonely, if they are together, because they probably only spend time at each other's houses for "collecting stamps" and while that is all great and fun, it probably is not as fun, as if they were going out to eat and going to bars and having fun, like they use to and that we see Jk doing with others, now. Jikook are so opposite nowadays, but seems the one thing they are the same with, is their mutual attraction they can't get rid of. Also, while they have their inside jokes which proves they do spend time together, probably mainly behind closed doors mostly or when on the road or working. Seems like a very isolating relationship. No wonder they came up with the idea of using a travel show as a disguise/excuse to get out of the house and out of korea and vacation together, where they have a fall back (its for filming a show and not cause we are a couple or anything, who want to explore the world together cause you only live once) and thanks to Jk saying that is what they are doing basically. Very clear choice of wording. And the way he says "Let's jam together, keep it going, however you feel and also "When the curtains rise and the lights turn on. Everyone is in their places." Seems very much like he's saying we can keep going and jamming in the group together (Where I have seen and heard this before? Hmnnn) and be who they are off stage, but we also know, when the curtain rises and the lights go on, its back to business. I'm sorry, but I think its very clear, all things point to Jk and them being in a group and working together, but also together off stage, but he just wants a little more honesty and openness and I think Jikook have shown that. Also the fact its basically singing about a forbidden relationship they can't really talk about, but he's ready. And he can most definitely talk about a straight relationship if he wants too and is accepted there. Might be why he chose international pride day as the release. I kinda love his brain.
