A Pretty, Private, Place

if you ever feel ordinary, mundane or un-special, learn about biology. every person or thing that exists in this universe is so beautiful. the intricacies of atoms that make up molecules would be impossible to imagine. they seem random, but fit together so perfectly that they only could’ve been designed by some genius. organelles that function on catalysts that fit together like puzzle pieces create our cells. our cells, coded for in the blueprints of our dna, they make us up. every piece of skin, every scar, every bruise, every crooked nose and every pulsing heart is made up of beauty. the magic that is the circulatory system, the wonder that is the mind, every bit is gorgeous. never for an instant hate your body. every blemish, every bit of fat, every piece that you hate was lovingly sculpted by some incredible force. every piece of you is art, so beautiful that we can barely comprehend it. 

every person we ever meet is a miracle of probability. the chance that their parents conceived at the exact right moment in time to make the gene combination to create that particular individual is very slim. the chance that their parents would even meet is tiny. the random events that influenced their personality, the music and the words and the people in their lives are all also tossed in by slim slim chance. every day, they could’ve died a thousand ways but they didn’t, and they likely never even noticed. every breath we take, every step we walk echoes for eternity. we effect chance, we effect the present and the future. unforeseen consequences, unforeseen  miracles, they are the results of every decision we make. and in our lives, everything we do is simultaneously predetermined and incredibly random. and to think that some people think that they don’t make a difference. they already have.
