Understatement ❀❧ || modernAU|| Ken & Sai
”Oh, yeah right. Sorry about that.” Again he manages to ask a stupid question. Fortunately Sai seemed like a very patient and relaxed person, hardly having realized he asked such a thing. “Well I have a lot of food at the moment but nothing really heavy. I can make a salad if you want that? That’s what I usually have.” In the mean time he brought him some water.
His mind wandered to how this guy was supposed to dress, and go to school with all his supplies lost. “Hey you know, I can help you replace some of your clothes and school stuff and you can pay me back later when you have it. I have an extra backpack and notebooks you can use for class, but you’ll need to get a whole new wardrobe unless you have clothes at a family member’s house or something.” He noted. He wanted to see if he could do anything to help this guy.
He was a bit confused as to why Ken's face fell. Sai didn't mean to make him feel bad, he was just stating the obvious. He made a mental note to not mention the state of his home again. The thought of a salad almost made the artists mouth water. Being a vegetarian, it was hard to find someone who didn't automatically assume that was the case with him and offer him a deli sandwich or something. It was a small notion like that, that perked up the artists rare smile."That sounds perfect, thank you."
Ken's kindness continued on with offering to replace his wardrobe. Sai was recently paid but most of it went towards bills and gas and he wasn't going to receive another paycheck for two weeks. He simply refused to wait that long, wearing the same clothes over and over again. ANd asking his parents for clothing was out of the question as well, seeing as he took with him to college all the clothes that fit him.
Furthering the immense hospitality, the other boy offered up his spare supplies for him. "Really," he started, "Thank you very much." He was slowly realizing that Ken could have easily told him he had no room nor time to take someone in. But, he didn't. "You're a very kind person, Ken-san," the honorifics were a habit of his, "I promise I'll repay you for everything you're doing for me."
He paused to get up from the couch and walk about the immediate area, getting familiar with everything but not touching anything. "You must have a lot of friends."
