She has now been diagnosed with severe gastritis due to starvation and hazardous living conditions. Remember, she and her family are living on the streets, which are cold and wet due to winter rain. Homelessness, stress, exposure to the elements, her previous injury when the lOF firebombed her tent, and malnutrition all conspire to sap little Joan of her strength.

Her condition is so serious that she even had to undergo surgery. Gastritis very rarely requires surgery to treat, so this is an indication of how dire her condition is. The surgery was successful to a degree, but she is going to need ongoing treatment to manage her symptoms.

The treatments are administered weekly and cost $500 USD (just under €500 EUR). Her family has no income and cannot afford this. If Joan goes more than a few days without treatment, her symptoms worsen rapidly, and she sometimes has to be hospitalized. It is vital that we help her family procure her treatments so that her condition does not worsen!

fidaa is a 29 year old woman from gaza with two very young children, muhammed and sila, one of whom was born during the war. her home was destroyed and she’s been displaced many times, and is currently separated from the rest of her family- her husband, her many siblings, and her parents. i can only imagine how nerve-wracking this is.

she’s doing her best to take care of her children by herself, despite facing hunger, thirst, widespread disease, and the threat of death. the other day, there was intense bombing near her and another family close to her was killed. life in gaza right now is hell and she told me they feel like they are just waiting for their turn to die.

fidaa and i talk often, and i feel lucky to know her. she’s an incredibly strong person, she travels long distances to find limited supplies for her kids and helps her siblings raise money even though shes separated from them.

but she needs help. the situation in gaza is so bad right now, the idf is preventing aid from entering and the food, water, and medicine available are extremely expensive. please share and donate to help her and her children survive and eventually leave gaza

Some of you may know that I was recently in Palestine.

While there, my resolve to do everything in my power to help only strengthened, and I came back wanting to check in on a few of the campaigns I had adopted. To my disappointment, a couple of them were frozen or reported, even though they had been tirelessly vetted and verified.

The worst part is that there are talks of a temporary ceasefire happening again, with the Rafah border crossing opening once more, and my friend Fidaa fears that after all of the hard work, she might not be able to get her two young children (a toddler and a baby) out. She is their sole provider right now.

So we have set up a temporary fundraiser for her on Chuffed, while we work to get her funds unsuspended (if we can). We have to act fast. Please know that two things are true: giving even a very small amount helps, and if you are unable to right now, spreading this campaign and getting more eyes on it helps.

The goal is $15,000 USD. We're starting this off at $285. Please help me get eyes on this.

My name is Shahd, a girl from Rafah, a city that has tasted war and pain since the day I was born. Near the Philadelphi Corridor, life was simple yet filled with love. I dreamed of finishing my university studies, finding a job that would make me proud, and building a happy family with the one I love.

I married Badr, the love of my life. He’s a pharmacist who owned a small pharmacy where he spent hours helping others and easing their pain. Our wedding was modest—no grand celebrations, just love binding us together and hopes for a brighter future.

But war does not let dreams flourish. Just days after our wedding, an order came: "Evacuate immediately!" We left everything behind—our memories, our hard work, our home. Then came the airstrikes. Our house was destroyed, along with Badr’s pharmacy, where he worked tirelessly, and even my university, where I had spent years pursuing my education, was turned to rubble.

We’ve moved from place to place, city to city, fleeing the death that seems to chase us. Now, we live in a tent in Khan Younis. A small tent that barely shelters us from the cold and rain. Badr tries to stay strong, but I see him every night staring into the void, as if asking himself, "Why did all of this happen?"

We’re living in unbearable conditions. Food is scarce, water barely sufficient, and my dream of motherhood is on hold because we don’t even have enough to sustain ourselves. We haven’t had the chance to celebrate our marriage or feel a single day of happiness.

Today, I’m reaching out to you, with a heart weighed down by pain, to ask for your help. We need everything: food, water, medicine, and clothing. We need a chance to rebuild, to dream again, to live a life worthy of our humanity.

We live in Gaza in the most difficult times. We do not have our daily living from vegetables. We have reached a point where the price of a kilo of tomatoes is $80, the price of a kilo of potatoes is $90, the price of a kilo of lemon is $80, and the price of a kilo of pepper is $70, which are not available and due to the lack of other vegetables and foodstuffs, we do not know what fruits look like because they are not available.

Danger and death surround us all day and all night.
