do not let your loneliness convince you that indifference or someone who is constantly hot + cold is better than being alone. being misunderstood or unappreciated is a loneliness of its own

It was never about him liking you, nothing is ever about him liking you it’s about whether or not he likes himself, is functional or dysfunctional in his behaviors, and if he’s levelheaded and has the ability to be proactive. But… a lot of us aren’t ready for that conversation yet.

It’s important to note and realize that posts like these do nothing but push women further into hyper vigilance, avoidant and fear based behavior and mindsets, and hyper independence. They push the narrative that you can girl boss and suppress yourself out of your very real emotions and attachments by rationalizing the situation and using black and white thinking to try to shake yourself out of a place of perceived weakness. It’s easier to stir up frustration, apathy, avoidance or anger to help each other cope with emotion rather than tell the truth and accept that people sometimes just don’t and won’t show up for you because they weren’t big enough and/or didn’t have the capacity to and it has nothing to do with their personal perception of us or what we did and didn’t do. It’s what was decreed and that is simply it.
