El Principio de Incertidumbre postula que nada se puede predecir con total exactitud, que todo conocimiento está sujeto a un margen de incertidumbre, el principio afirma que el observador por el hecho de estar ahí influye en la realidad, por tanto, nada es totalmente cierto y nada es totalmente falso, un gato puede estar vivo y muerto a la vez, Andorra es un país y una ciudad simultáneamente y que Ronaldo y Ronaldinho son ambos el mejor jugador del mundo del 2005. Esta es uno de los principios más poderosos del universo. La versión social del Principio de Incertidumbre afirma que, si sabes dónde está tu novio/a, no puedes saber qué está haciendo, y si sabes qué está haciendo, no puedes saber donde está.
