    He sips at the coffee- perfect as always- and hums thoughtfully as he ponders whether or not there’s something she can do for him. He knows she wants to help, she’s never been anything except enthusiastic about serving and so he wants to give her something to do that is all at once a task and something she might enjoy. “I don’t suppose you know anything about flower arranging?”

There’s nothing funny about the comment but Isaac finds it pertinent to laugh, just once, more of a sharp exhale of breath than anything real. “Everybody always does,” he points out. “But it’s my secret.” He isn’t going to pretend he doesn’t have one, the Raven Boys are too good for that. But they all do too, so it’s kind of hypocritical to demand answers. 

               remy had never even paused to consider that mistress howard APPRECIATED all her work around the house. it just sort of seemed…what was expected of her. ( she was falling into the mold of the perfect little slave more and more each day. )  she brings him the mug, a bit quiet and in deep thought. ❛ well, that’s what i’m here for, sir…oh, yes. mistress howard works very hard. ❜

   Just because something was expected of someone didn’t mean that they shouldn’t be appreciated for doing it. As far as he was concerned a house without slaves meant more work for the master (and he should know). He took the mug from her gently and smiled. “I bet she does.”
