When you move into a new neighborhood and get to know your neighbors, it's not so unusual to discover that in many of the houses near yours live strong, no-nonsense women who impart the needed discipline to those they care about with determination and severity. It even happens, sometimes, that one of those firm ladies would be willing to help her new neighbor in dishing out the necessary discipline in her home or take that burning matter into her own hands. In this collection of eight stories, we see Mothers and Stepmothers disciplining their beloveds in the old-fashioned way, as well as willingly taking care of their neighbors' discipline problems.
