if there's one proof that fics writters are sometimes better than the actual shows authors, is van and nat relationship. In fics they're almost always the closest of friends and care about each other so much, while in the series, not only Nat is not close to anyone other than Travis, but also Van doesn't seem to give a shit about her, like Nat was in a death situation twice, in one of them Van seemed almost excited to see her die and in the next one she couldn't have cared less about seeing her dead on the floor 😭

There's something really poetic about Jackie and Laura Lee's last moments, because I think their deaths parallel each other in some way? Besides the fact that they two are the only ones on the team who would never embrace the wilderness or become feral or do whatever it takes to survive, their deaths are linked because one of them died in the fire and the other one in the ice and i think that is so sad. Back home maybe they had nothing in common with each other, but I hope they're both together in the afterlife cause I think their souls match or something </3
