𝚆𝙷𝙾 𝙲𝙰𝙽 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝚃𝚁𝚄𝚂𝚃?

he's sort of in a hurry, only looking for warming blankets the paramedics said they'd left around for the obviously scared and shocked crowd. he's been alongside nell for as long as he can recall the blackout even started, doesn't want to leave her side for more than thirty seconds if he has any say in it. he sees the younger man with what he's looking for, so it's an easy b line to make.

milo almost doesn't hear the other speaking to him over the sound of the crowd of murmurs. he glances down at the blanket & then back up at the other. "i, um, actually had this one in the back of my truck," he says. milo had always kept an emergency fuzzy blanket in his backseat.. just in case.

Emery's mind still felt like it was racing. The memorial and peace sounding too good to be true — and for good reason. It went up in smoke, quite literally, and now her best friend was trapped in a hospital bed. It didn't look good for Jordan, the man who'd become her family and given her someone to truly rely on...it just didn't make any sense. The two had spoken literally that evening and now the news reports were featuring his name — she had to keep it together.

milo felt lucky that he hadn't known anyone who got hurt very well; they'd all pretty much just been people he's heard and talked to in passing. but that definitely didn't mean it was that way for everyone. those who were on the way to the hospital had families, friends . . it was so unfair. milo wish he could know why all of this was happening.

𝐌𝐀𝐗 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋 in shock following the events that had occurred inside. How foolish they had been, to think that it was all finally over. The scene in front of him that had unfolded had been something out of his biggest fears. When he had gotten Adriana outside, he had simply kissed her before becoming lost in the crowd again. Knowing she was safe, he could protect the people he cared for more than anything.

"yeah, me too . . ." lips press together & his head nods slowly. so much had been lost already — what did the town do to deserve this? "i just don't understand why this is happening."
