Wobbly lines

Look at me, posting what is essentially the exact same drawing as last time. I re-did The Executioners design a little and made a reference sheet thats easier to read. Also has some random notes on his design and lore. I changed how his antennae work so now they open like a fan. His tail is also much more solid when he isn’t using it to chop someone’s head off. I also wanted to make it clear he doesn’t have a featureless box as a head: you can see the contour of his skull pretty clearly. It’s meant to invoke an executioner’s hood lol

Thought I’d follow up with more sketches of The Executioner and another God, Furor the God of Thieves.

To some of explain the sketches: As I said in the last post The Executioner is basically the enforcer for the rest of the Gods. He gets rid of people who have gone against the gods in some way. Being the God of Execution, he is by association also a god of justice and law, so he also ensures that other criminals he believes to be deserving of death are kept in check. He also has another job, which is keeping Furor in check. Furor is a typical trickster god: they love to sow doubt and discord among mortals and watch them take and steal from each other. They also steal things to be god of, claiming themselves lord of tricksters, riddles, lies, and jokes. For reasons I will explain later it’s very uncommon for gods to have more than one thing to rule over, so Furor’s wild claims and the fact that they like to nick stuff from the other gods, be it personal items or followers, means that The Executioner not only has to deal with their human thief followers but their antics as well.

Furor’s body is made out of the same shape-shifting noodles the Executioner’s tail is made out of so they don’t really have a consistent true form apart from their eye hand. They’ve taken on a spaghetti form in order to bother The Executioner (that’s getting annoying to type. Let’s call him Exe for now) in his human form. I think his facial expression says enough as to how he feels about this.

A design for a character in a story I’ve been mulling over. He’s a member of an alien species who can embody concepts and masquerade as gods. He’s the God of Executions and is simply called The Executioner. He’s basically an enforcer for the rest of the gods who punishes people who go against them. His tail is infinitely stretchable and can be shaped into weapons, tools, whatever is needed.
