it kinda hurt seeing how much toby had changed it the week-month he had left. and part of plush new it was his fault.

his voice still sounded a little strained, but most of the cry - voice was gone as toby pretended to be stronger than he was.

so he let the goat pet cotton until cotton got sleepy, and the small axolotl curled up in the bag.

"you can pet him if you wanna! his name is cotton cake. cotton for short. alex helped me name him-"

he gasped again and squealed for a moment before interrupting himself -

“COTTONCAKEOHMYGODS!!!

oh my gods he is - oh my gods!”

he carefully pet cotton on the head, trying his best not to make a sudden movement and disrupt the baby.

“he makes lil man noises,,, hes just a lil boy,,,”

a little chirp comes from miltons bag thing, and a very small axolotl peaks its head out

"dont- tell dad i brought him back. couldn't part with this guy"

he gasps loudly, clasping his hands together to avoid from petting the animal without it wanting toby to.

“oh no gods… he is a little baby!!! a little boy, oh my gods. oh my gods he is a cute thing!”

he quickly [and repetitively] stomped his foot on the ground, similarly to when you pet a dog just right and their leg jitters quickly.

"water cats. kinda. like guys, like swimmin around a lot, make chirpin noises, look pretty.."

he was now rubbing his hands more aggresively.

"thought you'd think it was. cool."

“water cats…”

he whispers to himself, staring at the ocean, as if one would just walk out.

he sat for a moment, with big eyes, before snapping himself out of it.

toby has never gotten used to the feel of teleporting, and stumbled forward on his feet, accidentally headbutting milton on his chest. he let out a small oof! before stumbling back and looking at his surroundings.

“aww, milmin…”

he sighed softly and smiled - a genuine smile - before snapping into his mean - boy persona.

“this is cool. or whatever. the beach is pretty pog…”
