“ Hmph. ‘I’ll be fine’ my ass, Zoey. When I tell you kids not worry about me, it cause i’m Old. Zoey, you gotta start takin’ care of yourself. ”   His tone switches to a joking one before he speaks again   “ Or else Louis and, and I say this loosely, maybe Francis are gonna start hoverin’. ”   He laughs and tosses her a med kit so she can patch herself up and sits against the wall of the safe room they were currently holed up in, taking out a cigarette and a lighter. He puts the cigarette in his mouth and exhales, his serious tone returning.   “ Kid, I’ll stop hoverin’ over you. Just promise me that when- IF ”   He corrects himself with a cough   “ IF I’m gone, you’ll have learned to take care of yourself by then. I don’t think you’d want Louis and Bonehead over there telling you what to do. ”   When the last word leaves his mouth, his lighter flicks on and he lights the cigarette, avoiding eye contact with Zoey.

“ Oh you’ve GOT to be shittin’ me- ” Bill hissed quietly to himself as he ducked behind some debris for a hiding spot. He kneeled on one knee as he pressed his hands to his other one, his previously injured one, to apply pressure to the spike of pain he got in it, as he waited for his quick beating heart to calm down and he tried to regain his breath. “ Now is not the time for this. ” He whispered, mostly to himself, as he hid from Michael. With his knee acting up and Michael on the hunt, he chose to lay low for few, waiting for the right time to make a run to his next hiding spot (hopefully) close to his next generator.

With just the two of them sitting at the camp fire not talking and not really doing anything, Bill decides to pick the worst of his options that he was apparently contemplating and point it out. “ I uh, I know they say pointing out awkward silence makes it more awkward, but I’m not one to miss the chance to strike up a conversation.”  He says in the most blatant lie he has ever said since arriving at the camp fire.    “  I just got some questions cause- I’m genuinely interested.” He says at an attempt at reassurance (for some odd reason) “ They’re not personal cause you don’t seem the type to be too keen on sharing that kinda stuff, which is fine with me, but you can ask me some things too if you want and I’ll answer them back as well as I can. That way it’s uh, it’s equal. ”

“ Stop movin’ so much, kid. I’m just tryin’ to help. ”  He speaks in a barely audible whisper to Nea just in case there was someone not so friendly lurking nearby.    “ Don’t need you getting hurt again from a shitty patch-up, if I were in your shoes i’d prefer to get fixed up rather than taking a chance going around limping all over the place and- ” He sighs quietly. “ Nevermind, I’ll stop lecturing you, lord knows you’ve heard enough of that. ” He says as he stops himself just short of starting to really scold her.
