i think he would Really like fixing cars . he has this beat up truck named old boy, it was the first truck he ever owned and he treats it better than anything ever . that is his baby and it’s so stupid. when i say it’s beat up i mean no one understands how the actual hell it’s still running, ~10 years after he first got it . somehow he’s managed to keep fixing it up amidst his bad driving and road rage . and he doesn’t let ANYONE drive it . the only times people have driven it was when he was too drunk to/didn’t have any say in it

one night, sean drunkenly steals it. unbeknownst to john, he wakes up to go out on a drive and finds his truck missing. he accuses everyone of messing with him and about an hour of sulking later, arthur gets a call from sean who breaks the news that he may or may not have crashed with it . arthur has to drive himself & john over to him and john is LIVID. he takes one look at his truck and knows it’s over and it is Not making a comeback

he’s in fact so distraught over this he ends up holding a funeral for it. deadass. everyone just kinda shows up out of pity and as he’s giving some speech , everyone is standing here like what the actual hell are we doing here. they’re trying to be supportive nonetheless but they can’t help but find it a little stupid

his next truck’s name is lady (dutch & hosea get everyone to chip in for a new truck out of sheer pity . he’s so miserable without that damn truck.), and she lasts a little longer. he also has a motorcycle named rachel . once lady kicks it he has clementine! when he’s drunk he calls it “my darling clementine” (it’s named after the song)
