Her older sister, Nuala, is a Lecturer at the University of the Flanaess, specialising in Medicine. Kara was born in Marpenoth, the tenth month on the Calendar of Harptos. The common name is Leaffall. It corresponds to the real-world month of October, serving as the peak of the autumn season as temperatures cool and leaves change.

This makes my little Moon Druid (and my Halloween baby) a Scorpio.

𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝

Before the Nautiloid, Kara worked as a Research & Impact Development Officer, specialising in Ethological Standards. Her office was situated at the Candlekeep Annexe in Baldur's Gate, near Basilisk Gate.

She was also a session singer at The Blushing Mermaid.

Kara's mother, Anna, is an Environmental Guardian and Lead Agent for the Harpers. She is close friends with Jaheira. Anna continues to operate from the basement of House of a Thousand Faces in Neverwinter, the city where Kara was born.

She has an older sister, Nuala.

Kara has a strained relationship with her father. He and Anna separated when Kara was ten years old; the night he left was the last time Kara shed a tear.

Her patron is Mielikki, Lady of the Forest.

Gale calls her his "heart's fire" and his "crimson muse".

After the Netherbrain's defeat, and their engagement, Kara and Gale backpacked across Faerûn together for a year. She then moved into his tower in Waterdeep.

After Gale was offered his teaching role at Blackstaff, Kara was offered a job as Preservation Research Associate at Book Wyrm's Treasure.

She continues to sing, performing on a regular basis at Tao Wall Street's Pub.
