Our Mega Extravagant Scavenger-Hunt

First off, I'd like to say, to any and all who stopped by for our panel, thank you for giving it a chance despite the totally dumb name. And an extra special thanks to those who signed up and actually played!

This really would not have been that fun to host without you guys!

Lik wow, we totally didn't except this many to show up. Much like last year we had two and a half pages of names and URLs, but unlike last year, half actually submit photos and brought stuff. Which is amazing, because the first year only 5 teams/people came back. This year Nikkee spent at least 3+ hours tallying scores for a total of almost 20 contestants, all of which raced towards the finish line!

In the end we had a total of 4 winners, with first place almost hitting 400 points! (From left to right, the (totally awesome) winners received Minecraft for PC with a little plushie, the entire series of Nabari no Ou, a TARDIS, and a barnes and noble card loaded with 25$)

Here's to hoping we have a third scavenger hunt, that hopefully grows a little more, and runs just a little bit better with less a lot more dumb jokes.

All photos must be consented photos. Ask for the shot.   If you take sniper shots (ie; from a distance with the subject looking somewhere else) they will NOT count. We want to make sure everyone who has a picture of themselves, knows and wants that picture to be out there.

Specify what your picture is about.   We won’t make assumptions for you. If you take a picture of a ninja, you still need to specify somewhere on your post that the picture is for the subject “A ninja”. If you don’t say what it is, it will not count.

So we found out where/when our panel is going to be held! Friday, Panel Room 4 at 3PM. The Results Panel (where we will tally your points and hand out prizes), will be Saturday, Panel Room 4, at 1PM. 

Since it's a scavenger hunt at an anime convention, it's mostly picture based. We'll still have items you can find and bring, so don't let the 'picture' part deter you from participating. :D We also have prizes for the top winners!

But I will say prizes for 2014 are worth more then last MESH, so at the very least you can pawn the stuff you win off for a couple of bucks.

Sneak peek at next year’s freebies! These are much more durable than clay figures and won’t break! I promise. If they do, it is 100% your fault and what were you even doing with them I swear.

The theme is books. Teeny tiny books.

Anyway, these will pretty much be first come first get but since youre the followers you get dibs right here and now. Comment what color you want and I’ll set some aside just for you. Aww what a special deal I’m doin aww. Books come in pairs of the same color so you can only ask for one color. And if you ask now and I don’t have your color I can go /find/ your color before I’m done! Anywho. FREEBIES!

Aw, thanks Bon! Seeing all the interpretations of what the clues stood for was actually the coolest part about running the hunt, it made the pictures we got way more awesome! Ngl, we would have loved that picture.

Yeah, we did mention it, but I announced the wrong time. We asked for them to change what time the hunt ended, and didn’t find out what time it was officially changed to until we got a schedule at the con. so that was kind of ack

All the amazingly amazing winners of the very first MESH scavenger hunt, at Anime Matsuri 2013. Look at them in their prime, and be thrown by their cuteness. Does your scavenger hunt have players this awesome? I don't think so.

First place breached 200. So before you complain about not ranking top 3 just look at these faces (especially the one on the right, in 1st place) and remember it could have been you.

Hi guys, Faye here! 

The scavenger hunt, while kind of stressful, was incredibly fun to host. Like all things that require planning, you usually cannot plan for or expect everything. We tried to cover all bases, but we still managed to get thrown around, and mess a few things up. The biggest problem being the meet up time, and people assuming a 1-2pm panel meant 2 would be the cut off time. We're sorry for any disappointment for the not-well-planned parts, as we aren't an official thing, AM did not back us. Since this was the first one, this was the test run sort of, for us to learn from. Trust me when I say we learned a lot.

If you were disappointed with something, really liked something, or just want to say something. Say it here. We'll listen, and actually take it into consideration if you criticize us with the intention of helping.

Because hashtagging the con-picture tag for this year with a complaint on twitter is not going to get a proper response. I run the twitter too, so I know. I'm going to ignore it, talk about it here, continue tweeting stupid puns and Nikkee might probably just send you a picture of martin freeman drinking wine.
