As the evening began I lamented out loud that although we have this helpful flagging system I always forget to refer to it once the party is in full swing. Without missing a beat @ourlexielove volunteered to strut around periodically carrying the sign and gesturing to it as a reminder. Her smile sold the whole thing. She performed this duty all night, through 3 glorious costume changes, and even once while over someone’s knee. And that’s just one of the reasons why Lexie is one the very best people to invite to a party.

At the very least you could make adjustments. Ring the alarm bell when men in their 30s/40s are dating an ever-rotating cast of teenagers and women in their early twenties, rather than remain their friend until it’s already too late. When young women keep disappearing from the scene and the men they dated stick around, maybe ask some questions about what happened. Make sure you are not inebriated at every event you throw. Don’t date people who meet you at your events and see you as holding a position of social power.
