If you haven't heard of Panama, then you're doing it wrong. The Sydney collective have been pumping out golden summer anthems for the past couple of years, enchanting listeners all over the world.  Their latest, track 'Stay Forever' is a stunning piano driven tune that instantly conjures sunshine in your headphones no matter what the season.  Listen below!

1: Nightmare on Elm Street

I think this movie is amazing considering it was made on a very low budget.  One scene in particular is quite cool where the room rotates; I had no idea how they did it and later on read that the props were nailed to the walls and the room was placed in the middle of a rotating barrel.  Believe it or not this is also Johnny Depp's first legitimate movie role.

2: Friday the 13th Part VIII

When I was a kid I was obsessed with slasher films, I have no idea why? I think I watched this particular movie like 10 times! My favourite scene would have to be when Jason uppercuts a guys head clean off lol.  

3: Evil Dead 3 Army of Darkness

This movie was mega cool when it first came out. The protagonist (Bruce Campbell) is a total bad ass with a chainsaw attached to his arm. Favourite scene would have to be the one where Bruce is attacked by a witch on a trampoline.

  4: Stephen King's It

I watched this movie on my 12th birthday and it scared the shit out of me.  Once you watch this movie you won't like clowns any more that's for sure.  Yep still haven't watched it since I was 12. 

  5: Signs

This movie was a total surprise for me.  I ended up winning a free ticket going along not knowing what genre this movie was.  I hadn't seen an M.Night Shyamalan movie before so I was totally confused for the first half trying to work out if it was a drama or some other genre.  In the end it turned out to be an alien horror film! Oh and Joaquin Phoenix is in it too, excellent.

Sydney duo Twin Caverns is Louise Millar and Michael Macias. Armed with textured synth lines and lush vocals Twin Caverns have well and truly cemented themselves as the band to watch. Their latest single Drown has received a shit ton of blog love and it's not hard to understand why.  Driven by atmospheric beats held together by Louise's soulful tones, it's nothing short of intoxicating. If you haven't heard these guys yet, do your ears a solid and listen IMMEDIATELY.

Friendly Fires – Skeleton Boy + The Rapture – The Devil

I really enjoyed all the dance punk artists that started emerging in the late 2000s which seemed to fill up the playlists at most of my year 12 parties. These two were absolute highlights however listening back to most of these bands; this genre of music really hasn’t aged well haha. 

  Queens of the Stone Age – A Song For The Dead

From that horror movie organ to Dave Grohls insanely well crafted drumbeats, this song is pure genius. A head bangers paradise.  

  The Presets – Ghosts

In 2012 we ended up at an AFL grand final party in Perth consisting of about 50 dudes, 1 girl, a spit, nudity and this song.

  Cranberries – Zombie

Towards the late ‘90s I distinctly remember my brothers anger towards my poor music choices which consisted of 5ive, N*Sync and the most unfortunate addition to the Walkman, Human Nature. After a couple of years of their education, I finally fell in love with bands like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and of course, The Cranberries. Zombie did some really nice things for me.
