Nine months of home videos
Pairing: Michael x reader
Content: in which every month of your pregnancy Michael records a new video
Video one, month one.
“Michael! I'm not even showing yet!” The camera panned out, your hand covering the lens, yet it still caught the smile on your face.
“I know, I know… I'm just so happy.” There was a slight shake in his voice, like he was on the verge of tears as he zoomed in, the camera shaking slightly as he let it fall to your stomach. The light from the morning sun sent a ray through the kitchen window that seemed like a sign from the heavens.
The soft sound of breathing filled the room. The camera caught every bit of the pure silence before cutting out.

🦎— BAILE INOLVIDABLE.
ꔛ pairing — jermajesty jackson 𝓍 ƒ latina!reader
೯ warning: no warning just fluff & pet names.
೯ summary: jermajesty goes on vacation to his girlfriend’s home country.
old-school salsa blared from a weathered speaker somewhere on the porch, the lively rhythm weaving through the warm evening air. beneath it, the sharp crack of dominoes slamming against the table echoed across the yard, each round ending louder than the last.
your uncles argued passionately over the game, pointing fingers and talking over one another, their voices carrying through the neighborhood while everyone else laughed and watched the chaos unfold.
you sat outside your grandparents' home, sinking into a slightly worn white plastic chair. the scent of fried food lingered in the air, mixing with the faint smell of cut grass and cigarette smoke drifting from somewhere nearby. an ice cold beer rested in one hand while a freshly made empanada sat in the other, still warm enough to heat your fingertips. a quiet hum of satisfaction escaped you as you took a sip, the cold liquid sliding down your throat and offering brief relief from the humid evening.
across the yard, jermajesty sat at the dominoes table looking more focused than anyone else there. his brows were slightly furrowed as his eyes darted between the dominoes in the center and the ones lined up in front of him, carefully calculating his next move. every now and then one of your uncles would bark something at him in rapid fire spanish, and despite only understanding about three words total, he'd nod with complete confidence as if
he knew exactly what was happening.
you couldn't help but laugh at the sight. watching him fit in so naturally with your family filled you with a warmth that had nothing to do with the weather.
if you were being honest, this trip back to your home country had made you nervous.
not because jermajesty had done anything to worry you, but because you desperately wanted him to feel comfortable here. spanish wasn't exactly his strong suit, in fact, it wasn't his suit at all but somehow he was managing.
it probably helped that your family had practically adopted him the second he stepped off the plane. they love him so much that they practically forgot you existed.
even his mother, alejandra, hadn't made things easy for him. whenever the two of you were together, she'd slip into spanish and make jokes at his expense, grinning the entire time. jermajesty would immediately narrow his eyes, knowing full well he was being talked about, even if he couldn't understand a single word.
"why are y'all laughing?" he'd ask every single time.
neither of you would answer, which only made him more suspicious.
watching him now, arguing over dominoes with your uncles through a combination of broken spanish, hand gestures, and pure determination, you realized all that worrying had been for nothing.
your relationship with jermajesty would be hitting four years tomorrow, making this trip your anniversary gift in more ways than one. you still remembered the way your eyes filled with tears when he surprised you with the plane tickets weeks ago.
it wasn't just the trip itself, it was the thought behind it. the fact that he listened when you talked about your childhood, your family, your country. the fact that he wanted to experience it all with you.
the memory alone was enough to make your chest warm.
you were so lost in your thoughts that the familiar opening notes of baile inolvidable by bad bunny pulled you back to reality.
without hesitation, you shot up from your chair and made a beeline toward your brown-eyed boyfriend, grabbing both of his hands and tugging him to his feet.
"come on."
jermajesty blinked at you, already laughing. "where are we going?"
you grinned.
"today is the day you learn salsa."
his eyes widened immediately.
"oh, no."
"oh, sí"
before he could protest any further, you were already guiding him into position.
your feet moved effortlessly with the music, every step flowing naturally, as if the rhythm lived somewhere inside of you. years of family parties, cookouts, and celebrations made it second nature.
jermajesty, however, was fighting for his life.
his eyes remained glued to your feet as he desperately tried to mirror your movements. after nearly stepping on you for the third time, he let out an exaggerated sigh and looked up at you with the most defeated expression.
the sight made you laugh. hard.
"baby," he groaned, shaking his head. "i can't do this. you're moving way too fast."
you smiled and pulled him a little closer, pressing a quick kiss against his lips.
"mi amor, watch my feet."
he nodded dramatically.
"that's exactly what i've been doing."
"then stop panicking," you teased. "i'll go slower."
a reluctant smile tugged at his lips.
"okay... but if i accidentally launch you into the ocean, that's on you."
"you'd miss me too much."
"that's true."
your heart fluttered at how quickly he answered.
this time, you slowed everything down.
one step forward.
one step back.
his hands settled comfortably on your hips while yours rested against his shoulders. little by little, the stiffness left his body. soon the two of you were swaying together, moving with the music instead of fighting against it.
the smile on his face grew wider with every successful step.
"see?" you said proudly. "you're a quick learner."
he looked down at you and smiled, revealing the gap you loved so much.
"nah," he chuckled. "you're just a really good teacher, ma."
before you could respond, he surprised you by spinning you beneath his arm. a laugh escaped your lipsd just as the song came to an end.
the two of you froze when applause suddenly erupted nearby.
you turned to find your family staring, apparently nobody had been paying attention to their dominoes game.
your uncles were clapping. your cousins were cheering. one of your tias was recording on her phone.
your face immediately heated up.
"oh my god."
jermajesty just laughed.
"we killed that."
"you stepped on my foot twice."
"details."
he leaned down and stole another quick kiss before intertwining his fingers with yours.
eventually, the attention shifted elsewhere and you found your way back to your seats.
"we should head to the beach before it gets too dark," you said.
your colorful bikini peeked out beneath your white ribbed cropped tank top, paired with white linen shorts and the hermès sandals jermajesty had gifted you specifically for this trip.
he looked just as unfairly attractive.
a white tank stretched across his shoulders, showing off his arms, while loose white linen pants and a pair of birkenstocks completed the look. the souvenir hat he'd bought at the airport sat low on his head.
you had to physically remind yourself that your family was still present.
"stop staring."
you nearly jumped.
"i wasn't staring."
"baby."
"...maybe a little."
his laugh echoed through the warm evening air.
after saying your goodbyes and promising your family you'd be back later, the two of you started the short walk toward the beach.
the tenminute walk felt much shorter.
you pointed out places from your childhood, sharing stories you'd told him dozens of times before. somehow, he listened with the same attention every single time, smiling as you spoke.
it made your heart ache in the best way.
he loved hearing about where you came from because he loved you.
by the time you reached the shore, the sky had begun melting into shades of orange, pink, and gold.
warm sand slipped beneath your feet.
waves rolled onto the beach in a steady rhythm whhile distant birds called overhead. for a moment, neither of you spoke. you simply stood there together, taking it all in.
then you looked at him.
"thank you for everything."
his eyes immediately softened.
"for what?"
you smiled.
"for this trip. for loving my family like they're yours. for listening to every story i've told you a hundred times." you squeezed his hand gently. "for always making me feel important."
for a second, he just stared at you. like you were the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. then he stepped closer.
"baby," he murmured, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear, "there's nothing to thank me for."
your chest tightened.
"there is."
he shook his head.
"anything for you. always."
the sincerity in his voice nearly brought tears to your eyes.
he leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss against your lips.
when he pulled away, your foreheads rested together for a brief moment, the sounds of the ocean surrounding you.
and standing there beneath the fading sunset, hand in hand with the man you loved, you couldn't imagine a better way to welcome four years together.

HUMAN INTEREST, michael jackson.
thriller!michael x journalist!reader
synopsis: thinking about the first time michael invited you for a one on one interview, which landed you in the most magical place on earth.
content: amusement park, quiet yearning, interview theme, just something fluffy & sweet for mikey as i played him on repeat today.
thriller may have been your big break but disneyland was where you left your mark on journalism. by now, michael had sat across from hundreds of reporters. some wanted the headline. others wanted the controversy. many wanted whatever michael jackson planned to do next.
you however, seemed more interested in understanding why. and he liked that.
he liked that you never treated his childlike wonder as something he needed to outgrow. that you never laughed at the parts of himself the world seemed determined to misunderstand. most of all, he liked that you always met him where he was. and it was that very quality that earned you yet another invitation very few journalists received.
a private day at disneyland with michael jackson himself.
the interview looked nothing like traditional journalism. there were no studio lights, no polished stage, or no rehearsed introductions. instead viewers followed the both of you through disneyland, microphones in hand, as laughter interrupted half the questions before they could
one moment aboard the mark twain riverboat, the next wandering through new orleans square, before finding yourselves drifting beneath the colorful facades of its a new world. this wasn’t an interview confined to a chair. it was one that moved and breathed just like michael did.
“what ride makes you feel like a kid every time?”
michael’s smile came instantly, “all of ‘em.”
“every single one?” you giggled, keeping the microphone steady between you. “i surprisingly don’t find that hard to believe.”
“see,” and that toothy grin of his would only widen. “when your having fun, your not thinking about your age.”
somewhere between fantasyland and frontierland, the interview came to an unexpected pause. not because either of you had run out of questions, but because michael had.
he’d wandered off towards an a shop window, admiring the tiny moving displays and hidden details that most guest hurried right on past. pointing out the little mechanical figures tucked into scenery like he’d discovered them for the first time.
you didn’t rush the moment though, you just promoted the camera crew forward. meeting him exactly where he was with a smile.
“when did you realize imagination was just as important as talent?”
“i think imagination comes first.” his eyes only lingered longer on the display, his voice impossibly soft as he spoke. “everything starts with imagination.”
later while drifting through its a small world, your gaze followed families floating alongside yours. children waving. parents smiling. adults laughing just as loud as the youngins they accompanied beside them.
“y’know..” brushing away a coil that slipped free, “i never thought i’d find myself enjoying disney without a child of my own.”
that confession alone warmed michael’s chest, earning a careful squeeze of your hand as the two of you continued to float easily along the stream.
“why should kids have all the fun?”
and somehow, that became one of the most quoted moments of the entire interview.
by the time the two of you reached queue for big thunder mountain railroad, the conversation had become as effortless as breathing.
“do you think creativity can be taught?”
“hmm,” tucking his hands in his pants, like he’d be carefully considering his next words. “i think it can be encouraged.”
“but creativity’s already there, children prove that everyday.”
somewhere between pirates of the carribean and the haunts mansion, the interview had come to a pause again. only this time there was a small crowd beginning to gather. children peeled shyly behind their parents. families waved from across the many walkways. and without hesitation michael excused himself, kneeling to meet each child at eye level as if they were the only person in the park. signing an autographs, waving goodbye like he’d known each individual child for years.
quietly documenting the moment from the sideline, capturing the gentle humble moments no headline ever seemed interest in.
once the two of you boarded space mountain, the interview had long since stopped feeling like one. especially whenever the rides became just a bit more adventurous. michael particularly enjoyed how your confidence lasted right up until the very first drop. your hand instinctively finding his arm, fingers curling around his sleeve, then into his arm.
holding on just a second longer than necessary before pretending nothing had happened once your feet touched solid ground again. but he’d never call attention to it, only smiled to himself as the two of you continued to explore the park side by side.
“when your creating music…” steadying your breathing with a laugh, “do you hear or feel it first?”
“feel it,” the answer reveals itself with no hesitation, “always.”
he massaged a hand into his chest, “if i can’t feel it here,”
“i don’t think anyone else will either.”
the final question arrived between the evening glow of sleeping beauty’s castle. golden light spilling across the stone walls as guests gathered for the parade, music carrying through the air. and for the first time all afternoon neither of you hurried to fill the silence
“…what inspires a man who inspires everyone else?”
michael watch the floats pass by, all of them laughing, smiling, and simply existing together.
then he’s soft gaze finally found yours, a soft smile tugging his lips.
“life.”
the answer was simple. honest.
“people.”
another quiet confession. his eyes darting around the crowd.
“stories.”
the finished interview would go on to become one of the most celebrated pieces of your career. not because you uncovered a secret. you didn’t unveil the biggest scandal. and this time, you hadn’t secured a exclusive.but because for the first time in a very long time, audiences weren’t introduced to michael jackson the phenomenon.
they were introduced to michael.
and somewhere between riverboats, rollercoasters, laughter, and conversations about imagination. the rest of the world finally understood what you’d known from the very moment you stepped onto the set of thriller.
that there was always a person behind the headline.

junkies note: as a black woman who plans to become a journalist i believe it’s very important that we remember that our entertainers and public figures are people just like us. michael was one of many who’s suffered at the hands of media harassment, invasive scrutiny, and sensationalized reporting before it was ever seen as wrong. which has led to many of our brightest stars to withdraw and lose trust in the very industry meant to tell their stories.
so as a future journalist, a writer, and admirer of such great work. this story is my imaging of the kind of interview i would have loved to give our sweet boy during his time with us. a interview filled with kindness, curiosity, and understanding of treating one like a being first. how’d you celebrate mj today? hope you all enjoyed! 💋
missing my parents extra right now since the one day in your life rehearsal clip dropped, I hope they’ve reunited
