It’s been hard for me lately to find a good balance between my job (work) and painting (also work). I visited the AGO and did some quick sketches - getting back into the habit of drawing things I see.

When I visit a city, I always go to its art galleries or museums. 

My method of viewing works in a gallery was influenced by one of my art teachers from highschool: first, I’ll quickly go through the entire exhibit; then, I’ll go back and take a closer look at pieces that stood out to me, read its label, maybe take a few photos on my phone; finally, I’ll take out my sketchbook and really spend time with my favourite works, making quick sketches or notes to myself. 

There’s not enough time to look at everything.
