The professor had a point and one that won her over — mostly. It was hard to deny knowledgeable words when she knew they were true from experience alone. That however, didn’t mean that it wasn’t something that couldn’t be fixed! “Well, yeah! But I think knowing that someone wants to make them not have to suffer is comforting.” Which is exactly how she felt about Lloyd, and all her friends.
She smiles from the light touch. “Thank you, Professor. I promise I won’t let you down.”
She nods in agreement. “Right. Never ever give up!” Colette let out a cheer, her happy voice shining through her words.
Even now, it still applied to her as well. That spotlight she had was far less pressuring than it once was, but there was still so much to do and she wasn’t one that wanted to disappoint everybody that meant so much to her.
"It certainly is. Having a foundation of support is something that can save a life, and give them the determination to keep going. I'm still trying to figure out how Lloyd managed to be determined enough to go to class every day. He's the paradox." She paused. "Anyhow, it might sound odd, but to me I believe that my bad experiences are another way to measure my accomplishments. If I hadn't taken risks and been disappointed in what I failed to do, I would never be where I am today. I would have never come to Iselia either."
The professor didn't really wish to envision a reality where she never found her home, even if it meant losing her first one every time. To her, even if she hated being reminded of it or considering alternative possibilities, there was a reason why she settled in Iselia. It was hard to believe it was through coincidence alone that she stayed.
"You don't have to worry about that." she inhaled deeply through her nose and let it out slowly. When she did so, suddenly images of Luin came to mind. "I'll do my best to keep moving forward too. I'm not just a humble school teacher anymore." At least in the eyes of others. "So, Colette. Where are you off to next? Whenever you come home for awhile I expect a visit so I can put together a care package."
