The Other Side sale is over -- and thanks to you, we raised $370 for the Trans Assistance Project!  

In light of recent news about the sudden nomination of CIA Director Mike Pompeo to Secretary of State, and worries that correct, gender-confirming documentation might soon become more difficult for trans Americans to apply for as a result, Other Side Press is running a sale to benefit the Trans Assistance Project.

The Trans Assistance Project provides small grants to low-income trans people in the US, to help them pay for passports, immigration documents, and other important forms of ID.  You can read more about their mission here.

To help them raise money, Other Side Press is pleased to announce a week-long sale on pdfs of our queer paranormal romance comics anthology, The Other Side.  Today through Tuesday, March 20, if you purchase a pdf of The Other Side with the offer code transassistance, you’ll 50% off, and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Trans Assistance Project.

We’re also happy to report we got to send out free pdfs of The Other Side to lots of trans teens, and this week will be sending free hard copies of the book to 10 different libraries, schools, and youth centers in 8 different states, all of which serve LGBTQ youth.  Both of those are things we’d like to continue doing even though this sale has finished, so please feel free to get in touch with us about either, even if you missed the sale itself.

Today through Monday 11/21, enter the code lifeline at checkout – you’ll get 50% off your pdf purchase, and 100% of proceeds will be donated to Trans Lifeline, a nonprofit organization that provides life-saving services to trans youth.

In addition – if you’re a trans kid or teen who’d like a copy, but can’t purchase one yourself for any reason, email us at [email protected].  We’ll send you a pdf for free.  Seriously.  This has been a hard week for all of us, and we care about you.  This one’s on the honor system, folks – we won’t be asking anyone to prove their age or identity or anything else, so please be respectful and don’t take advantage if you’re not a trans kid or teen.

And one last thing – if you’re a school/public librarian anywhere in the US who works with LGBTQ youth and would like a paperback copy for your collection, but don’t have the budget for one (it’s $20 here), email us at [email protected].  We’ve set aside 10 copies for low-income libraries and classrooms, first come first serve.  We’ll send you one.  This is also on the honor system – please don’t take advantage if you’re not a librarian.

The Other Side: An Anthology of Queer Paranormal Romance was brought to life in early 2016 by editors, contributors, and amazing Kickstarter backers.

It’s 200 pages of 19 comics by 23 creators, with all-new stories contributing to the paranormal romance genre in an unambiguously queer way.

The book, now printed, is scheduled to distribute to backers in August and September, and become available for sale in both physical and digital formats  for everyone by the end of the year.
