It is not an exaggeration to state that Alan Touring’s contribution in cracking the Enigma code for the United Kingdom and allies during WWII was a war changing event which saved the UK, shaved years off of the war, and saved millions of lives.

In 1952 Turing was prosecuted for homosexual acts. He pleaded guilty. He was given two options, go to prison, or receive probation if he agreed to be chemically fucking castrated.

So this man, who’s contribution to WWII and computational math theory literally saved millions of lives and changed the course or human history chose chemical castration instead of being imprisoned.

In 1952, a bunch of “morally” superior savages, guided by beliefs and ideas that no freedom loving people or any government should ever be guided by, decided that a man who literally was one of the saviors of their nation needed to be imprisoned or chemically castrated because another consenting man agree to have sex with him.

A plumber, or taxi driver should not have ever been subjected to that kind of treatment either. But if a government thought is was acceptable to treat Alan Turing that way, God fucking help plumbers and taxi drivers.
