As i said here, Colt NEEDS to move. Which, in turn, gave Court a lot of headaches.

BUT

Ryland was the kid to say weird shit that to other people sounded like horror movie start. Without context his phrases were ominous, confuzing and slightly concerning. Well, not slightly. Court, on top of the need to catch Colt, always had to make sure Ryland wouldn't end up telling something scandalous. And the problem is, whenever he tried to talk with Ryland about it, the kid never saw a problem. There was a logic behind his weird phrasing, he wasn't trying to scare anyone. Moreover, Colt could understand Ryland perfectly fine. So why Court was upset?

Sometimes Court felt like his brothers were the twins from The Shining, straight from 1980.
