"My grace alone can't get rid of your amnesia. I'm afraid my brother must aid us." The younger Donahue sibling nodded in understanding as he followed Jerome's lead. He gently placed his hands atop the Duchess's head, the warmth of his grace helping to alleviate her pain. "I'm sorry for the way I treated you." He whispered, feeling a pang of guilt.

"What happened to me? I don't recall anything. How long was I asleep?" Florianne questioned in concern. She did not know both men and could not recall anything that had happened before. "I don't, I don't understand how is this possible? Do I know you brethren? I have never seen you before." The duchess murmured softly as her voice croaked from fear. How do these angels know her? Were they allies or enemies? Florianne wanted answers but knew she was in too much pain to ask.

Bio

For most of her life, Florianne lived in her cousin’s shadow. To her chagrin, her parents and older brother, Gaspard often compared her to Celene. She took out her pent up frustrations by perfecting her archery skills. One winter night, she hatched a plan to betray the family that never cared for her. With everything set in motion, she almost joined the False would-be God Corypheus. He promised her that he would be the family that she never had, and that the world would be made anew. She ultimately realized in the end that her fate would not be involved with Corypheus. As an act of defiance, she joined Inquisitor Cadash and her allies and thus helped save Thedas from destruction. In the battle, her cousin was slain by the False God’s followers and Orlais nearly fell apart. Somehow, the Dwarven Inquisitor persuaded Florianne’s older brother to take the throne after Celene had passed.

Elliott set his jaw and balled his hands into tight fists as he confronted the Duchess. "What were you thinking when you joined Corypheus?! Did you not realize how dangerous that Daemon is?"

"Knock it off, Elliott." Jerome warned in a stern voice. "She’s seen the error of her ways; why, she even believes in the Maker now." He held his brother back for good measure, to ensure that he wouldn’t scream in Florianne’s face. Turning to the woman in question, his gaze softened. "I trust that you’ll keep your conscience clear. You’ll aid those who are less fortunate, and never stray from the path to redemption."

The younger Angel scoffed before breaking free of his sibling’s grip. "How long do you think this will last? She believes in Him now, but what if she loses faith somewhere down the line? You’re a fool, brother." He scowled at the blonde haired woman and shook his head, long brunette tresses swaying with the motion. "You’re bound to slip up sooner or later. And when you do, I’ll be there to put an end to your terror. Count on it." Pushing past Jerome and Florianne, Elliott stomped off.

"I felt that I had NO other option than to join Corypheus because you see I was living in my cousin's SHADOW!" The duchess scoffed. Her cerulean eyes seized up in anger from Elliott questioning her decision and she glanced towards his older brother in disappointment.

"How dare you allow your younger brother to make such foul accusations! I DO in fact believe in the maker now and have no intentions of going back to CORYPHEUS as he has betrayed me by ultimately claiming power for himself!" she jeered. The blond Orlesian woman could not help but feel torn between snapping into further rage or to just walk away.

Florianne decided to try and be reasonable with Jerome as in fact she believed that him being the eldest of the brethren deemed him more knowledgeable and compassionate towards her. "I am willing to learn your ways if you would tell your sibling to not come anywhere near me until he learns some manners." She exclaimed in agony. "I am going to go back Orlais for now because the inquisitor NEEDS my assistance."

Owen's mouth hung agape until he spoke at last. "To be fair, Mages are no slouches at purification spells. Yes. I've had my run ins with Contractors. They're relentless, and will attack when the spell on their prey is broken. I once came across a Demon so desperate, they tried to rope me into signing a contract. It was pitiful." The final battle at the Winter Palace left the Otherworld scarred and in disarray. The Lady Inquisitor would have to hold a funeral to mourn those lost, and start rebuilding the demolished court. He watched with piqued curiosity when the Duchess removed her mask. "On that we agree. Anyone can turn over a new leaf-- all they have to do is take the steps necessary." He felt a pang of sadness whenever she said that their bond was only an alliance. Raising his hands in surrender, Owen frowned. "Even Gods and Angels can die. It requires tremendous power, but it's not unheard of. I-I think someone murdered Him so that other Angels could rule. It's all a big conspiracy that rings true in some ways." Exhaling heavily, the raven haired man nodded again. "He's gone, and now it's up to my kind to avenge Him and bring down the corrupt leaders. It'll be a Hell of a fight; with more casualties than the battle in Thedas."

{ ♢ } "A Contractor Demon tried to SWINDLE you into doing its bidding? It's not much different from Corypheus, I suppose. He used the Blight and ancient elven magic to become immortal; he'd have a VESSEL ready and waiting if he was 'killed'. A woman named Calpernia was to be his successor, but Inquisitor Cadash made quick work of defeating that Tevinter mage." Florianne pulled out a HANDKERCHEIF, and used it to carefully wrap her mask up. She pocketed her belongings once more, and canted her head to the side. "You saved me from eternal damnation, and I was very much like a Demon..."

She PURSED her lips, and stared at him in disbelief. "The Maker, the most powerful Holy Man is dead? You must find His murderers, and make them pay. That sort of crime cannot go unpunished." Florianne shifted in discomfort. Just as her faith in her Heavenly Father had been RESTORED, she found out that He was no longer alive. "I want to help you. You stood by me against soldiers and a horde of Demons, so the least I can do is lend you my STRENGTH. Until then, my debt isn't paid."

Owen eyed Florianne curiously as she mentioned her brother's possession. "An Angel's grace may have also been used to eject the Demon from your brother's body. If you left it alone, chances are you would have lost Gaspard entirely; Demons sink their claws in deep, and don't let their prey escape easily. In that way, they are very much the same as the Contractors." He was acutely aware of possession-- having rescued a few humans who had the misfortune of almost signing their lives away. "I've yet to come across a Demon with a righteous heart. However, it's not impossible since some of my brethren and sistren have rebelled." If Angels were able to defy their nature, so too could a Demon.

"Of course. Anytime you need a friend, just call on me and I'll find you. I know you would do the same for me if you were able to." He shook his head, his wavy raven tresses swaying with the movement. "I left without our Father's permission. He died shortly after, but Heaven's Council covered that up. I-I guess I miss Him..."

{ ♢ } "I imagine your kind has less trouble than a mage when it comes to expelling Demons from victims' bodies. You are NATURAL enemies to those with wicked hearts, so it's fitting. Have you ever fought a contractor? They sound highly CUNNING." Florianne pulled off her mask, unafraid of revealing the upper half of her face. The Winter Palace Ball felt like EONS ago, though in real time it had been hours prior. Long fingers traced along the edges of the mask, memorizing the metallic material. "Yesterday, I wouldn't entertain such a NOTION. But now? There are still things unknown to me, and if a Demon truly wished to do good, I would not hinder their efforts."

"We were strangers until we fought alongside each other, and you protected me. At best, this is an alliance." She simply REFUSED to think of Owen as a friend, as all of her past friends had abandoned her. "The Maker is dead? I thought He was blessed with immortality!" A look of confusion was ETCHED onto her facial features. "Heaven's Council used underhanded tactics to control your species. Yeah, I would miss Him too."

The raven haired Seraph nodded his head in agreement. "You've taken off your rose tinted glasses, and now you see everything for what it is. Naive followers were manipulated and used for that Dark Spawn's personal agenda. So anyone who made it out of the battle alive should consider themselves lucky." Owen rubbed soothing circles along Florianne's shoulder whilst she continued speaking. "Demons exist in this realm too, but they aren't as persistent as those from The Fade, or Thedas. They rely on contracts, and will sucker unsuspecting humans into signing their lives away." While he was present, he'd make sure the blonde didn't fall victim to such a scheme.

"With nothing to hold you back, you can do anything you'd like. And I'll be around if you ever need someone to talk to. I'm here to help." He drew back at her words, but eventually revealed the truth. "I left Heaven to protect as many people as I could. I-I'm not a human... just an Angel." Hopefully, that was explanation enough.

"Why am I not surprised? Demons will always find ways to CORRUPT those who are pure of heart. They feed on negative energy, and grow stronger with every victim they use. I know this because I witnessed a desire demon POSSESS my dear brother Gaspard. It fought to stay in control until one of the circle mages used magic to eject it from his body. It wasn't exactly a pleasant experience." "I think this is the longest anyone's stayed by my side. REGARDLESS, I greatly appreciate your help." She listened intently to the Angel, unable to find a reason to go on the OFFENSIVE. "Did the Maker send you, or did you leave without His blessing?"
