Critique Questions:
1. Concept
-the audio assignment was meant to convey a cacophony of voices piling on top of each other to a slow, almost accusing tempo of how they are treated by the world and how the expectations of the world has hurt them, ending on a note that calls for women to hold each other up. With the video I wanted to continue on that stream of layers of women being shown crying out at the injustices of the world. I stuck with clips of videos from which I took the audio in order to keep with that theme of âhere are women who speak for both themselves and other womenâ in a way.
2. whoops sort of answered this in the first question. Went with a lot of layering for my composition. Just chaos everywhere.
3. Not sure how to answer this. Kept the video as close in sync with the audio as possible, I guess???
4. some clips I gave color to in order to vary what people were seeing. I wanted the layers to hopefully be distinguishable from each other, but still a mess.
5. Effects give varying texture to the overall video and make it a more palatable eyesore to look at. I donât want to confuse the eye, because clips from the same video tend to overlap here.
6. The layering worked out REALLY WELL. It adds to the chaos of the audio. Somebody said they got chills from watching this!
7. The ending. In audio form I liked the ending, but in the video I just couldnât figure out a way to stick the landing a little better.
8. Reshuffled some layers and played more with effects and colors.
