the best thing about ichihime becoming canon is how literally no one can say that it happened to solely please fans or for the money since ichihime and orihime are still furiously hated throughout the fanbase-in both the east/west. i love and adore ichihime, but it is not a popular pairing-never has been and even though its canon now, it’ll probably just receive triple the hate(unfortunately). all those essays on how her love is toxic/unhealthy/idealized/childish/just a silly crush were just you guys twisting things because of your shipping bias and/or ridiculous hate for her character.  ichihime is canon because thats what kubo always intended-from the moment he introduced her feelings back in the second chapter. 

the idea of coming home to the love of your life is so soothing and nice I can’t wait to look forward to that
