The last time the United States Congress formally declared war was on June 5, 1942, against Romania (with similar declarations that year against Bulgaria and Hungary). These were the final three of 11 total formal declarations of war in U.S. history, all during World War II.

Congress issued six declarations during WWII:

• Against Japan on December 8, 1941

• Against Germany and Italy on December 11, 1941

• Against Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania in June 1942

Since 1942, the U.S. has engaged in numerous military conflicts (e.g., Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq), but none with a formal declaration of war. Instead, Congress has passed authorizations for the use of military force (AUMFs), such as:

• The 2001 AUMF (post-9/11, still in effect as of 2026)

• The 2002 AUMF for Iraq

This is how you fix a problem. RINO Republicans(Lindsey Graham) are mad because they couldn’t profit over actual WAR. Democrats are pissed because it’s a win for Trump and a loss of money laundering narratives of begging for a Drug war (IN NAME ONLY) they want the money to fight drugs, they just don’t want to “Fight wars” effectively.
