TOS got its morality from Gene Roddenberry, who was a utopian futurist. His core belief was that humanity would survive its flirtation with nuclear war and grow up, shedding childish things like organized religion & racism. All the mentally ill people are cured, and the incurable ones rounded up and sent to mental health colonies.

Gene Roddenberry was also a horny man, and that's reflected in early Trek too. At least as far as he could take it in 1966. But don't confuse sex with pornography; he was the kind of guy who loved the idea of a shameless, sexually free, tits out society.
