● – || His fingers glided along the keyboard as he listened to her words. Ever so subtly, he changed the melody to going from melancholic to something warmer and lighter that he thought she might enjoy. She didn’t need to know of the sadness in his heart, that would only cause for a sad conversation down the road. One that he didn’t need to have with her just yet. 

“Sometimes, a little touch is all that you need.” He replied quietly, “I’d love to play alongside you, Luna. Any time, any place.” 

He thought that just playing along side her would be a good bonding activity for the two of them. Besides, they could probably play some beautiful music and even go forward with entertaining guests at balls and parties with their playing. At least, selfishly thinking, it would allow for Noctis to not have to actually be socially with the guests – something he dreaded more than anything. 

“You play the harp?” He asked, shooting her a little glance, “I’d love to hear you play some day. I think it only fair considering that you’re listening to me play right now.” His lips curled into a smile at the thought of him sitting beside her while she played, reading and watching her movements. Everything she did was graced by Heaven’s light. Having the chance to witness her do something else that she was good at would be a real treat. 

“I can’t wait to hear it. I’m sure you play beautifully.”

‘ mm, i used to play more before i was oracle.  i do hope i haven’t gotten too rusty. ’ 

not that she would ever bemoan her duties  ,  people needed an oracle  &  she was more than happy to play that part.  the melody shifts  ,  &  luna closes her eyes for a moment  ,  taking in the music with a smile curving her lips up now.  playing the harp had always brought her a sense of peace  ,  a small time where she didn’t have to think about anything but what note came next. 

‘ well, i hope you wouldn’t be expecting something too grand.  i’m no composer, i simply....play how i feel. ’ 

her head rests lightly against his shoulder  ,  one hand tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear now.  that was often the trouble she found with keeping it short  ,  it tended to come loose more often than she cared to fix.  but right now  ,  she’s content watching noctis’ fingers dance across the keys thinking for a moment before she speaks.

the oracle smiles  ,  soft  &  almost shy  ,  as her hands find their place on either side of noctis’ face.  luna’s smile is soft as she shifts just a bit closer to noctis from where she sits now  ,  pulling him down at the same time she leans up.  they meet in the middle somewhere  ,  &  she lets her eyes close gently  ,  lingering for a moment before leaning back.  she moves one hand to tuck a piece of hair behind her ear  ,  head cocked slightly to the side  &  lips still curled in a gentle smile.

‘ you can kiss me whenever you’d like. ’

● – || He was lost in himself, playing along without a care in the world. He rarely got moments alone, moments of sanctuary, and when he did he was often reading or playing piano to express himself through music. 

When Lunafreya spoke. Noctis’ crystal blue eyes rose from the keys he had been playing to look over at her and meet her gaze. He offered her a light smile, one that didn’t quite reach his eyes before he returned to softly playing his melody. 

“You’re allowed to listen any time you want, Luna. Don’t ever let me stop you from doing so.”

He shifted slightly at her touch around his shoulders, straightening up just a bit to allow her posture to be comfortable along with his own.  

“Sad…? Perhaps a little. It’s just a song I’ve been working on for a while.” It probably did sound sad. It wasn’t a secret that Noctis was far from the happiest while he felt trapped within the walls of his life. It was only those closest to him who knew to what degree that sadness stretched.

‘ yes, but only a touch. ’ 

she smiles  ,  a half smile at best  ,  &  leans into him as she listens quietly.  piano music has always sounded so  beautiful  to her  ,  she always wished she was able to learn.  how ironic  ,  she thinks  ,  that her talents lie in playing the harp  ,  to harmonize with other instruments  &  highlight them.  but she’s never been much for formal compositions  ,  nothing quite so put together as what noctis is playing. 

‘ well, if you’d ever like accompaniment  ,  perhaps i could join you sometime. ’ 

she won’t intrude should he say no  ,  lunafreya is more than content to listen  ,  humming a harmony below her breath again.  music has always captivated her  ,  an expression of the musician’s very soul.  luna raises one hand to twirl a piece of noctis’ hair around her fingers  ,  content with the quiet moment for now.
