Fanzine Friday!- Panophobia (issue #3, 1994)
This zine was done by Jen Wolfe (former bassist for Bunnygrunt and I think she had been in some other bands as well). I think she published 5 issues (I have them all except #1), and all were most excellent.
It was a great, pocket-sized zine that was primarily interviews with bands, comics, and a big section where readers would send in a paragraph or two (sometimes longer) of their biggest fear(s) (I contributed to #4).
In the interviews, Jen seems split down the middle between indie rock/pop and riot grrrl and of course she asks the bands what their greatest fears are so all very interesting reading,
I always looked forward to this mag, and it was a fave of mine back in those roaring 90's (and if anyone has an extra copy of #1 please let me know). I'll review some other issues down the line.
"Doing The Work: An Interactive Zine About Mental Illness "by Charlie Birch, March 2022
Half of this zine is author, Charlie Birch, telling you about his therapy journey - how he regulates his anxiety through different skills he has learned. He shows his progress over 3 months. Then... he shares those skills with you by giving you copies of the sheets he uses through the weeks for Emotional Regulation, He has something called "Self-Care Tracker" where you can check off different things you can do that are advantageous to your emotional and physical health. The next thing is a mood tracker for each day of the week where you can circle the moods you felt those days. There are many options, not just three or four. Most of the skills used are from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. The author encourages you to research on your own. I keep thinking, as I look at this, it would make a great app!
*Early heads up that issue 100 will be a themed issue - draw a face with rubber stamps (using different stamps to make a face) *

I made a zine! :D The title is based off a shitty acoustic guitar + cellphone recording app album that I wrote when I was 18 (I can link that at the end of the post :3) I've been really hyper fixating on zines lately, and with everything going on in the world lately it has been incredibly therapeutic for me to make these and process my feelings through poetry + collage. I know my formatting isn't the best, I'm not formally trained in graphic (or physical) design, but with each zine that I make, I'm getting more and more practice and I hope to eventually improve! I'm aiming for a goal of making one zine a month :) Also I will link the printable PDF at the end of the post as well, but beware! I am not great at formatting yet and if you want to print it unfortunately some of the front cover will be cut off, (as it already is in the image smh...) If anyone has any tips for formatting or digitizing physical zines, that would be greatly appreciated! Anyways, thank you for reading and I hope my art made you feel something <3

TIME FOR RAT LORE
RAT LORE SITE IS LIVE
This SHOULD have been posted when it went live on May 30th, the date of Rat Lore Con 2026, but I've had the most mad dash weeks since then of pain, projects, a fest, & more!
So WHAT is Rat Lore & how does it relate to anything again?? Well, it's a dubious Lore & project web that deals with Rat Lores featuring centrally some familiar Rats that have already appeared in Mythoslain (Veracity Rat & Mendacity Rat) as companions of one Xidobo Ktikov. Rat Lore originally came to be very early on in Mythoslain's legitimate lifespan/development, just over a month into pre-planning for what it would become now. They were conceptualized as a side bit that oh so rapidly became a fixture of the comic when they slotted in so beautifully with Xidobo's whole deal (which is also elaborated on in connection with the Rats in a dedicated zine about them).
BUT WHAT IS THE RAT LORE SITE? The Rat Lore site is simply another platform to house all the assorted Rat Antics including all the zines I've made about them from specific Lores & origins to my Quiet Year hack accidentally designed at my bday party in January & the first issue in a series of educational zines w/ comics about literary theory concepts. Those last two are completely free to read/download on the site! You can also read each of the three Rat intro zines free too on their dossier page, but it's a mess I need to fix as of the time of posting.
Everyone is welcome to engage with Rat Lore & explore its dubious contents. I eagerly welcome offerings/entries to the Lore of any kind to display in the Legends section of the site & you can get a digital Rat Goodie (or a physical merch if you're local!)
64 page zine 🤓💭😎
A very interesting article on the function of the queer zine scene today compared to the 90s. Food for thought.

RU Down 4 The Game! No I Up 4 The Ride! Matt Furie, 2007
So, Matt Furie, cartoonist and creator of Pepe the Frog, was asked by his cab driver friend to ride along with him for an art project. So, basically, Matt drew a bunch of drawings – some crude, some not, and put empty word bubbles above their heads so random people who ride the cab would fill them in. Then he shows what they wrote and on the other side, he tells how it happened… “couple of dudes from boston…” ya get the idea. So they are pretty funny sometimes, depending on the picture and the random person.
A wonderful fantastic footrace, a compilation... coming soon whenever i finish it
