It's inspired me to pickup a pencil again at last as a 35yr old man at a low point in life who hadn't put pencil to paper since he was 15

As I said to one of my close friends just a couple of hours ago though, because of my utmost respect for artists of any level, ALL other artists are the enemy, so now we must part ways and walk the path of rivals

(hope this isn't weird to ask, i'm really just curious.)

Much like with Naruto, i think its bad but bad in the way like every shonen series is. The toughest women are horribly mutilated in order to take them out of the final battle, the girls never shut up about their relationships with boy characters, etc etc.

BUT female characters are NOT sidelined in big battles. Nothing as egregiously disrespectful as Naruto 693 happens to Ochako. She's got her own villain counterpart AND they got a tragic gay thing going on so like, +10 points.

UNLIKE with Naruto, there's a lotta goofy ass poses. Girls aren't exactly gainaxing all over the place, but with the skimpy spandex suits and the author's penchant for fanservice, it's not exactly innocent. Idk about the anime cause I'm a manga girlie, but it can be very off putting especially in scenes you're supposed to take seriously.

It's so frustrating how it feels like there is a tradeoff. You get more well-rounded female characters, but in exchange they have to have fanservice at inappropriate times.

Horikoshi draws the best fucking muscles on women ever though. When they just look badass and awesome and aren't doing those contorted Hawkeye Initiative poses, it's sooooo satisfying. Cathleen Bates, your arc may have been not good but you will always be dear to me.

I have no idea why they would need to pretend with the other, but I'll eat it up none the less

PEAK ART

I've said it before and I'll say it again: BNHA's ending is way way way better than Naruto's, but that puts the bar on the ground lmao

There are some stinker arcs (Joint Training Arc didn't need to be that long and the Star and Stripe Arc made more plot holes than it fixed), but it's war arc was WAAAAY way way way better than Naruto's.

-ALL the main characters have interpersonal relationships with their final opponents, making fights more emotionally satisfying.

-The main theme of "anyone can be saved" is emphasized through every fight, where as Naruto's main theme about not giving up on reaching others really only resonated with Obito.

-The falling action/resolution of the story have room to breathe and are not crammed into 1.5 chapters

-The bonus epilogue is about the characters discovering new dreams ALONGSIDE their main goals, and aren't all about who got married and what their offspring look like.

-There is no giant clam fight
