“the silence is definitely off putting, if we’re gonna be honest. it makes me miss being an actual you know, ‘super hero’ which how quiet it is here.” cassie replies, also taking a sip of her own coffee. the blonde wasn’t nearly as specific when it came to hers, as long as it tasted good she was happy. but, it definitely wasn’t the same as the coffee in gotham. maybe it’s because it just wasn’t home. “maybe that someone could be you, i mean, you are pretty legendary when it comes to tech, babs!” she knows she couldn’t do it but she definitely wants to hear it. “i say go for it.”

The phrase ‘pretty legendary’ has a small smile curving Babs’ mouth -- she was totally gonna use it to flex on Tim later. In a really mature and dignified way, though. “Yeah,” Babs acknowledged the point. She could still do a lot of her vigilante work remotely, but she could imagine how difficult it might be to step away from it. It wasn’t that long ago that this would’ve limited her capacity to help, too. “Guess growing up with Gotham means getting pretty comfortable with dysfunction. Other than that, though, how are you adjusting to the move?”

    ‘  sounds comforting i guess. ’    her gaze flickered towards the other before returning back to her takeaway cup of coffee.    she had no clue of what it was like in gotham but she did hear once about a certain bat residing there.    ‘  sounds like a hotspot for fighting crime though.    but is it true that there’s this guy running around in a batsuit patrolling the city ?  ’    kate leaned forward , brows raised.

The corner of Babs’ mouth quirked up. Every once in a while, just for fun, she’d upload a couple de-hanced pictures of Bruce onto internet conspiracy theory boards. Everyone needed a hobby! “Even worse -- there are multiple people in batsuits running around and patrolling the city. You get used to it, though. Kind of a Gotham badge of honor to nab a selfie with Robin.”

“you might be on to something,” steph nodded her index finger waving around as she thought over the idea “all those whale and rain sounds have nothing on gotham’s unique sound.”  the blonde moved to bring her own cup of coffee to her lips taking a sip before her eyebrow arched at he words “you were getting sleep in gotham? that must have been fun.” she joked before tilting her head “i can always stand by your bed and scream profanities and throw things around until you fall asleep, just say the word.”

At Steph’s proposition, Babs can’t help but smile and offer an affectionate eye roll. Homesickness wasn’t so bad with another Batgirl around. “Oh, Steph. I can always count on you to find the most annoying possible solution.” And the most creative, but Babs had too much fun teasing her to say that. “Anyway, you’ve been here longer than me, so spill. Lack of evening ambience aside, how have you found it?”

“I’m just saying, I think someone could make a moderately sized chunk of change off a ‘Gotham Ambience’ mix tape.” Babs took a measured sip of her iced coffee, and fervently missed the barista at The Gotham Grind who knew exactly what was meant by a ‘splash’ of cream. What could she say, she was a creature of habit. “Twenty-something years in that city and now I honest to god can’t fall asleep without the soothing sounds of two drunk guys duking it out outside my window.”
