“You’ll have to speak up, honey, I’m not getting any younger. God damn, I used to have hearing like a puppy’s.”

“This old thing? Thanks.” 

“You look nice yourself.” 

“Why, thank you, sir. I got this just the other day.”

“Oh. Thank you? I.. Do not particularly care much about fashion.”

“And you don’t need to. You’ve got naturally good taste.”

“Why am I finding it so hard to believe you?”

“Dunno. I like it though. I think it’s because I’m used to seeing you run around in a uniform.”

“Are you just saying that ‘cause you bought it?”

“Pshhh. Of course not. Although it doesn’t hurt.”

“Thanks. I slept in it.”

“Should’ve known. There are clean ones in the laundry basket in the hall if you’re interested.”

“What an angry piece of paper it must have been.”

“It was printer paper. It looked so innocent.”
