The two Celtic knots are representing the everlasting life that both Gwaine and Merlin have. The Solomon’s knot represents Merlin and the fact that Merlin doesn’t have a beginning or an end and that he’s everlasting. The sailors knot represents how Eden when Gwaine goes (dies) he will always come back to Merlin and their unbreakable bond won’t break.

The aspen leaves represent protection and shielding. Willow leaves represent strength and resilience. The aspen is representive of Merlin who protects people without fear and the willow represents Gwaine who is in the show also shown as strength itself.

The three main portions of each leaf represents how three is meant to be a sacred number

The bird feathers are a Merlin and a white hawk. Gavin is a name that eventually turns into Gwaine, and Gavin means white hawk. And of course Merlin and a merlin is pretty well connected through name.

The broken sword represents the end of one story, and the start of another. Gwaine’s story ends from the endless and pointless journey to being able to start a new story alongside Merlin and his everlasting adventures.

Monoceros, a name which drifted through time. His name had changed through the centuries but his strength and his mission had never faltered. Through times he would change, a white perfect unicorn, a unicorn made of reds and blacks. But with each new ruler of the ghostly kingdoms, he would stand aside them. Even when they are not meant to be. He would fight along side them, though if they were not worthy of the admiration of the solider of the stars, he would bring their ruin. The king who had taken his place was send to ruin, fought against by a child who had no right to be king. To be king was not an easy task, and the princeling had learned what life had decided would be his path. The knight had no one to watch, and such he ensured that his princeling would live. A young and hollow ghostly soul who begged and pleaded for his parents. Only for them to be who left him behind. One with an evil grin, the red of the dead coated her grin. The other, left in shards of broken glass and blue blood which turned black. Yet Monoceros stayed, he healed the young one. Protected him. And once the princeling had found a home, Monoceros belived that his journey was to be over. He silenced inside of the princelings mind. Aware that he could be saved once more, but the knight of the crow did not leave. For he knew there were still things yet unsaid. The king did not know of his crown. Monoceros, bowing before the unknowing king who has lost his son. The king who never knew what it was to be a king, neither a child. A king who had died so young and yet never allowed to grieve for the time which had been lost beneath the waves of green. The king who had fought for freedom of his own soul since the moment he drew his first breath. The king that Monoceros knows will take the place with pride, even if he does not know what it will entail.
