"Oh." A blush appeared on the maid's face. "R- right..." She had already forgotten. "However," she continued after a while, her voice regaining somewhat of the certainty that could be found in it earlier. "Did you try to find out what the spell was?" It was probably curiosity that made her ask this question.

She nodded and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze. "A smile always makes a difference~"

"It does, indeed," Mei-Rin nodded, putting her forefinger to her lower lip, lost in thought. "I've never seen something what would resemble magic as much as this." Blinking, she asked, this time a bit quieter, "You believe in magic, sir?" Her voice betrayed she was surprised.

Her brow, at first furrowed, now went up in surprise. "M-... magic, you mean, sir?" she asked quietly, apparently intrigued. As one of a few, she did believe in such things.

She grinned a bit, nodding. "There's a smile~ You should smile more often, Drossel~ It really suits you~"

A frown appeared on the maid's face as she slowly started forgetting about her embarrassment. "I- if you don't mind me asking, sir," she started rather tentatively, "a /series/ of events?"

'Especially when it's me we're talking about,' she thought, lowering her sight even more, now finding her feet pretty interesting. "Y- you're right, sir," she agreed. "B- but I should do everything not t- to let it happen."
