I'm going to be playing catch-up on posting since I’ve been absent from this blog for quite a while. Despite my absence from blogging, I’ve still been monitoring the charts and trends to constantly update my personal playlist. With that being said you may be seeing a mixture of new and old songs on future posts just to keep anyone updated who have been absent from the vpop scene for a while or are completely new to it. Pop r&b Kelvin Khánh ft. Jc Hưng Nhặt Lại Mảnh Vỡ MV

Why I like this song: catchy, upbeat, great melody, his slick appearance without trying too hard, great voice and he can dance! Love the choreography even if he does seem like 1 sec off sync with the rest of the dancers haha :)  Upbeat songs are like gold when it comes to vpop because vpop is generally dominated with ballads (I still love ballads!). 

Pop ballad ERIK of ST.319 Sau Tất Cả MV

Why I like this song: romantic and sweet, relaxing, soothing, great voice. This song is crazy popular and was playing constantly during my recent trip to Vietnam earlier this year. Great voice with a sweet music video to suit; it’s a great romantic track.

Pop Hồ Ngọc Hà My Baby MV

When I first heard this song upon it’s release, I knew I had to include it on the blog and now I have......almost 2 years later (ugh. I’m so bad). Why I like this song? It’s upbeat (aka. gold), trendy, great dancing and she looks gorgeous! I also like how the beat has a slight Modern Talking/80′s pop/disco vibe.

Slow pop Suni Hạ Linh ft. R.Tee Em Đã Biết MV

Why I like this song: Mellow, relaxing, soothing, great voice, indie feel. I feel like songs like these are breaking the mould of slow vpop songs. It’s a nice song to listen to on a warm and lazy Sunday afternoon.

Pop OPlus Bye Bye MV

Half Korean and half Vietnamese singer/actress Hari Won releases her latest single Anh Cứ Đi Đi (translates to Go Ahead and Leave), which I speculate relates to the break up of her 9 year relationship with Tien Dat. Many popular vpop artists such as Khởi My, Hoàng Yến Chibi, Thanh Duy have covered this song on youtube but I’ve only included one cover video of this song by Thái Tuyết Trâm which I thought was just so beautifully done. I’ve been following her for a while on Youtube and her covers are amazing. Check them both out!

Love it! The beginning sounds hauntingly beautiful and it's an overall lovely ballad. Their voices also complement each other very well!

Both song and mv are absolutely adorable! She's so cute! Chibi was also a contestant of the singing reality show/contest Học Viện Ngôi Sao (aka. Star Academy).

Pop R&B Quốc Thiên Gió Cuốn Em Đi MV

I love this song and holy crap, this song was composed by Sơn Tùng M-TP! Talk about being freaking talented! Not a big fan of the whole vampire mv concept but it still seems to work. I just thought it was funny how instead of closing the blinds, she hugs him instead LOL?

Min recently performed her follow up track, I Don't Need a Man, with full dance choreography on a music show called Bài Hát Yêu Thích (Favourite Songs) broadcasted on Vietnamese TV. Min and St.319 completely leveled up their performance from her previous single, Tìm (Lost), with an extremely impressive and more difficult choreographed routine! There are no HD clips as of yet, but you can watch her rehearsal, fancam, and LQ version below. I'll update it once better clips are available :)

Hoàng Tôn, born November 15th 1988, was apart of the top 12 contestants of The Voice Vietnam 2013 and is part of the 4 member R&B Hip Hop group Fb Boiz. I don't know much about him to be honest and didn't watch the show, still looking into him, but I love his style! Check out his newly released song!

Omg I think I found my new repeat song! This song is uber catchy and I love how the music video is just so vibrant and poppy! The three of them work well together, through song and comedy haha their voices are so nice!

You also may or may not recognise Bảo Kun aka. Phạm Gia Bảo (guy singing in black cap) from the Vietnamese TV singing contest and show Học Viện Ngôi Sao aka. Star Academy currently airing in Vietnam at the moment. I'll go more in depth about the show in a different post; it's a cool show and deserves it's own post, not just a mention! ;D In the show he performs his self composed (I think) song Vì Anh Có Em (Because I Have You)which Hoàng Tôn also sang and I love the song! It just makes me want to melt, and love the r&b vibes! Check out both versions below!

His singing is so nice omggggg! It reminds me of an American song but I can't quite put my finger on it. Does anyone know? (Edit: I figured it out! It was Mariah Carey's "Candy Bling" and 365daband's "Miss You" I was hearing . But there's another song too that I can't pin point lol)

I recently came back from a month's trip to Vietnam and these hits were charting and shown on music channels. Sorry I won't be posting all the top songs at the moment.. just the ones that I, and what I think the general younger generation, might like :)

I love this guy, and he is seriously gaining fame like crazy right now although he's been around since 2011. He has so many good songs, which I'll be posting more of in upcoming posts. Not to mention he knows how to perform. I really like the choreography to this song, which he self composed too; it suits! And the styling is pretty good too. Wasn't too keen on the whole 'blonde hair zebra pattern' look though.. it was so out of place.

Such a lovely melody and her voice is so nice! The MV was a bit puzzling to me though, especially when the two guys proposed at the same time. And where did the other guy come from? lol And it seems like her boyfriend went to anger management.

Such a cute music video! I don't know why but I just want to give him a hug and be his friend hahaha And the song is really sweet! It has a really light easy-going melody.

Music starts at 2:40. It's a bit long since it's like a music video drama but it's good and pretty sad. And they act and fight good!

SpaceSpeakers is a Vietnamese community of producers and artists, and was founded by Touliver, an Electro producer who is undeniably one of the best producers I have come across for Vietnam. He's produced many songs for other artists such as 365daband's "Get On The Floor" and Mr.A's "Tell Me Why" just to name a few! Some members of SpaceSpeakers include the man himself Touliver, Triple-D (3D), JustaTee, Kimmese, Rhymastic, and Soobin. I say they're Vietnam's underground because in my opinion Electro, Dubstep, Rap, Hip Hop, Trap and Urban R&B hasn't reached mainstream Vietnamese music yet, although I think it's making it's way there!

Music starts at 0:31. I must say Rhymastic rapped so good! Absolutely love his voice! And Kimmese sure knows how to work the camera! Love her rap and dancing/bopping to the music. They're both '91ners. I'm pretty sure I came across this video a while back but disregarded it because the intro and beat was unappealing to me. I now know better than to judge a song or music video from the first 10 seconds! JustaTee and Cuong7 also make an appearance in the MV.

3D & Rhymastic Đây Là Việt Nam (This is Vietnam) MV

Awesome beat and rapping! I swear I have the biggest crush on Rhymastic right now. And daaamn check out the finger works at 1:21! Vietnam's awesomeness level has hit the roof for me! 

Kimmese & JustaTee Real Love MV

I love Kimmese's style! Her voice is very reminiscent of 90's r&b which I absolutely love and is the first I've heard in Vietnamese music. You can clearly tell where her influences lie.
