âYou know just because I said that doesnât mean that Iâm trying to make you put a ring on it, Frank.â He was chewing the inside of his cheek hard, and he was so mad he taste the blood. It actually hurt his feelings really bad but he couldnât show it. Frank would probably never speak to him again.Â
âWhatever.â He mumbled as he looked away from the older male. Teddy felt his heart breaking in his chest and there was nothing he could do about it. He didnât wanna ruin whatever he had left with Frank. âNo, I donât even care. I just enjoyed the sex. Thatâs it.â
âGood, âcause I wonât.â He answered with a sense of finality. He set his jaw as he studied the young man in front of him; it was best to be stern, just in case. Frank was certain heâd never get back to the place he was before his wife died. He was incomplete and would never be whole again. He couldnât go dragging people into his fucked up life now.
âHuh.â The former Marine laughed dryly, though it completely lacked any humor. âYou couldâa had me fooled⌠why donât you quit lying to yourself, to me? Just move on from it, we donât have to linger⌠but there ainât sense in lyinâ about it. Pick yourself up by your bootstraps and keep going.â
